Session One COVENANT YAHWEH MADE WITH DAVID

Session One
COVENANT YAHWEH MADE WITH DAVID

Introduction
  • On why I am writing this blog on King David and the covenant of peace God made with Him and the next session on Jesus being the covenant of peace: is because I feel it will be a timely blog.
  • The reason why this will be a timely blog is that we are coming up to what the Christian Church and the world calls Easter at the end of April.
  • This is a misnomer because in reality it should be called Passover not Easter which is a pagan goddess of Spring.  This is not what this blog is about so I will not go into it further.  You can do your own research on this.
  • What we as Christians celebrate at this time is the Passover in that Jesus Christ is the Passover Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world and He died on the cross to redeem us from sin.  He also arose on the third day to show that He is God, the eternal Living God who has life within Himself and through His resurrection He triumphed over sin and death.
  • All of this will be dealt with in Session 2 showing why He is the Peace covenant God made with man.
  • In this session I am showing how King David of Israel is one chosen by God to be king over Israel and that through His line will come an eternal king to sit on His throne to rule the world as well as Israel.  That God made a peace covenant with King David and through that covenant and through David's descendants came the One who became the Prince of Peace who through His birth brought peace between God and man.
  • Now onto the posts about King David and Jesus.

1-Brief overview of David - the full account can be read in 1 & 2 Samuel, and beginning of 1 Kings
The 1st book of Samuel is about Yahweh’s dealings with the end of the house of Eli, the taking of the Ark by the Philistines, the last judge Samuel (who also was a prophet), the people’s desire for a king, the reign of Saul and the anointing of David to be king and his encounters with Saul before he takes the throne after Saul’s death.
David was a man after God’s own heart, he loved the Lord with all of his heart and he followed the Lord’s commands and lived according to his law.
He was a shepherd king that looked after the people of Israel and fought their battles with the Lord’s help.  He was jealous for the name of the Lord and stood against Goliath in the strength of the Lord and was angry that this man insulted his God.
He was a man of integrity and even when he had an opportunity to do so, he did not stretch out his hand against the Lord’s anointed king to take Saul’s life even if it meant that by doing so he
would be on the throne and his enemy will be wiped out.  However David took seriously the anointing of God even when it may appear obvious that the favor of the Lord had left the person in question.
He wouldn’t go against Saul even though it meant him being ostracized from society and having to live in the wilderness and live by his wits and to run for his life and his men’s lives.
He would not go against Saul but waited it out even though he himself David had been anointed to be the next king of Israel at a young age.
David was prepared to let the Lord deal with Saul and for the throne to become vacant and legally his at the right time in God.
He knew that if he went against Saul and took the kingdom too soon that the Lord would be against him and his household would not be established.
He was prepared to do things God’s way even though it meant persecution, difficulty and hardship, all this time in the wilderness his character was being forged in the furnace of affliction.
David truly loved the Lord even when he faced difficulties and his Psalms reflect the issues he faced and he may have complained to the Lord about the hardships and difficulties and his enemies going against him or if he was angry with the Lord he poured out his heart in the Psalms.
Yet he always ended the Psalms with praise and thanksgiving.
Even though he committed a sin by having an adulterous affair with Uriah’s wife Bathsheba and having her husband deliberately killed in battle which was murder.
David when confronted with his sin by Nathan the prophet, he repented and confessed his sin and acknowledged that he sinned against God only.
His sin with Bathsheba though done in secret caused issues within his own household to be brought out into the broad daylight.
This sin brought God’s wrath down on his household and he reaped the consequences of that sin with how his son rebelled against him and other things happened in the family.
Yet the Lord cleansed David of his sin and told him that he will face the consequences of that sin.
However in God’s grace and mercy He told David that there will be a son to sit on the throne after him from his union with Bathsheba the second child he had to her.  God told David that he didn’t have to go about the way he did to obtain Bathsheba that if David had asked the Lord He would have given David whatever his heart desired.  A lesson to us all here.
David greatly desired to build a temple for the Lord, he brought the Ark back into Jerusalem and raised up a tent for it there.
He was concerned that he was living in a fine house and the Lord was living in a tent, so he sought to build a temple for the Lord worthy of His greatness and glory.

2- Promise of a Son to sit on the Throne forever.
The Lord responds to David concerning his David’s desire to build Yahweh a house in the following way from 2 Samuel 7: 5-17 but  (I had included the whole chapter, I had made bold the verses and changed their colour to make them stand out the words that the Lord spoke to David.)
This covenant has several promises 2 Samuel 7:9-16 and there is no conditions attached to this covenant 2 Samuel 7:15-16 just like the covenant God made with Abraham; there were several promises and no conditions.
2 Samuel 7:1-29, verses 5 -17 are highlighted
1 WHEN KING David dwelt in his house and the Lord had given him rest from all his surrounding enemies,
2The king said to Nathan the prophet, See now, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of God dwells within curtains.
3 And Nathan said to the king, Go, do all that is in your heart, for the Lord is with you.
4 That night the word of the Lord came to Nathan, saying,
5 Go and tell My servant David, Thus says the Lord: Shall you build Me a house in which to dwell?
6 For I have not dwelt in a house since I brought the Israelites out of Egypt to this day, but have moved about with a tent for My dwelling.
7 In all the places where I have moved with all the Israelites, did I speak a word to any from the tribes of Israel whom I commanded to be shepherd of My people Israel, asking, Why do you not build Me a house of cedar?
8 So now say this to My servant David, Thus says the Lord of hosts: I took you from the pasture, from following the sheep, to be prince over My people Israel.
9 And I was with you wherever you went, and have cut off all your enemies from before you; and I will make you a great name, like [that] of the great men of the earth.
10 And I will appoint a place for My people Israel and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own and be moved no more. And wicked men shall afflict them no more, as formerly
11 And as from the time that I appointed judges over My people Israel; and I will cause you to rest from all your enemies. Also the Lord declares to you that He will make for you a house:
12 And when your days are fulfilled and you sleep with your fathers, I will set up after you your offspring who shall be born to you, and I will establish his kingdom.
13 He shall build a house for My Name [and My Presence], and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.
14 I will be his Father, and he shall be My son. When he commits iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men and with the stripes of the sons of men.
15 But My mercy and loving-kindness shall not depart from him, as I took [them] from Saul, whom I took away from before you.
16 And your house and your kingdom shall be made sure forever before you; your throne shall be established forever.
17 In accordance with all these words and all this vision Nathan spoke to David.
18 Then King David went in and sat before the Lord, and said, Who am I, O Lord God, and what is my house, that You have brought me this far?
19 Then as if this were a little thing in Your eyes, O Lord God, You have spoken also of Your servant's house in the far distant future. And this is the law for man, O Lord God!
20 What more can David say to You? For You know Your servant, O Lord God.
21 Because of Your promise and as Your own heart dictates, You have done all these astounding things to make Your servant know and understand.
22 Therefore You are great, O Lord God; for none is like You, nor is there any God besides You, according to all [You have made] our ears to hear.
23 What [other] one nation on earth is like Your people Israel, whom God went to redeem to be a people for Himself and to make for Himself a name? You have done great and terrible things for Yourself and for Your land, before Your people, whom You redeemed and delivered for Yourself from Egypt, from the nations and their gods.
24 And You have established for Yourself Your people Israel to be Your people forever, and You, Lord, became their God.
25 Now, O Lord God, confirm forever the word You have given as to Your servant and his house; and do as You have said,
26 And Your name [and presence] shall be magnified forever, saying, The Lord of hosts is God over Israel; and the house of Your servant David will be made firm before You.
27 For You, O Lord of hosts, God of Israel, have revealed this to Your servant: I will build you a house. So Your servant has found courage to pray this prayer to You.
28 And now, O Lord God, You are God, and Your words are truth, and You have promised this good thing to Your servant.
29 Therefore now let it please You to bless the house of Your servant, that it may continue forever before You; for You, O Lord God, have spoken it, and with Your blessing let [his] house be blessed forever.
God gave the covenant of the land to Abraham and his descendants who would later become the nation of Israel.
The land covenant later became conditional on their keeping the laws that God gave to Israel through Moses and this condition was part of the law.
However should they repent of their sins and idolatries and return back to the Lord they would return back to the land from which they would be exiled should they sin against God by worshipping other gods or commit other sins that are abominable to God.
The land is their eternal inheritance as it is the land that belongs to the Lord and it is His inheritance from which He will rule in time to come at His second coming.
The land covenant is an eternal covenant for the chosen people of Yahweh.  Israel shall become an eternal nation.
To David was given a dynasty a house from which a Son will rise up from his loins, a direct descendant to whom the Kingdom will belong and this Son will sit on the throne of David forever and the kingdom will be an everlasting one an eternal kingdom one without end.
So the land is an eternal land as is the kingdom it is eternal and shall have as its capital an eternal city Jerusalem upon which the eyes of the Lord are upon it continually.  From this eternal city shall One come from heaven a God man to sit eternally upon a throne to rule an eternal kingdom.
A - Abraham land covenant, circumcision is the token of the covenant between Abraham and Yahweh.
B - Moses a nation is formed and covenant written in stone the laws and statutes of Yahweh.  The Sabbath is given as a token of the covenant promise between the nation of Israel and Yahweh.
C - David an eternal house a sure dynasty to rule from an eternal city.  Token of this covenant a promise given of a son to sit on the throne that will descend from David to sit on the throne forever.

In Conclusion re the House of David and our Savior
All of this culminates in the seed of woman who will defeat Satan and will come from the descendants of the Patriarchs through the chosen people of Israel from the tribe of Judah see Genesis 49:10 Jacob’s prophecy over Judah and Ruth 4: 17-22, Isaiah 11:1 of the house of David and who is this person?
It is none other than our Lord Jesus the Messiah who is coming soon as glorified Priest and King.
He came as priest and lamb a peace offering the first time and is coming as priest and king the second time to rule from the nation of Israel from the eternal city Jerusalem and (He will build a temple for the name and presence of His Father) or He Himself will rule from the temple on the high and lifter up Mt Zion which will be higher than all the other mountains upon the earth.
Also at the first coming of Jesus we entered into His eternal kingdom through the New Covenant if people are of Jewish/ Israeli descent from the tribes of Israel or initial covenant if we are from the gentile nations of His atoning work on the cross.
We are citizens of heaven and of the kingdom through a spiritual birth by which the laws of Yahweh were no longer written in stone but are written on our hearts on the inward man.

3- King Solomon
This promise of God to David to have a man on the throne forever was carried over and reaffirmed during the time of Solomon’s rule.
This is found in the following Bible verses from the book of 1 Kings at the time when Solomon came into the kingdom, and the time when he dedicated the temple after it was built.
A - David’s charge to Solomon to follow the Lord with all his heart and obey the Lord’s commands and God will fulfill His promise to David that there will be sons to rule on the throne of Israel.
1 Kings 2:1-3
WHEN DAVID'S time to die was near, he charged Solomon his son, saying,
 2 I go the way of all the earth. Be strong and show yourself a man;
3 Keep the charge of the Lord your God, walk in His ways, keep His statutes, His commandments, His precepts, and His testimonies, as it is written in the Law of Moses, that you may do wisely and prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn,
4 That the Lord may fulfill His promise to me, saying, If your sons take heed to their way, to walk before Me in truth with all their heart and mind and with all their soul, there shall not fail you [to have] a man on the throne of Israel.

B- Solomon’s prayer to God when the temple he built with the materials that David had prepared he mentions about God fulfilling His promises to David to establish his house and throne in Israel.1 Kings 8:6-26.
1 Kings 8:10-20, 23-26
10 When the priests had come out of the Holy Place, the cloud filled the Lord's house,
11 So the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord had filled the Lord's house.
12 Then Solomon said, The Lord said that He would dwell in the thick darkness.
13 I have surely built You a house of habitation, a settled place for You to dwell in forever.
14 And the king turned his face about and blessed all the assembly of Israel, and all the assembly of Israel stood.
15 He said, Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, Who spoke with His mouth to David my father and has with His hand fulfilled it, saying,
16 Since the day that I brought forth My people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel in which to build a house that My Name [and My Presence] might be in it, but I chose David to be over My people Israel.
17 Now it was in the heart of David my father to build a house for the Name [the Presence] of the Lord, the God of Israel.
18 And the Lord said to David my father, Whereas it was in your heart to build a house for My Name, you did well that it was in your heart.
19 Yet you shall not build the house, but your son, who shall be born to you, shall build it to My Name [and My actively present Person].
20 And the Lord has fulfilled His promise which He made: I have risen up in the place of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as the Lord promised, and have built a house for the Name (renown) of the Lord, the God of Israel.
23 And he said, O Lord, the God of Israel, there is no God like You in heaven above or on earth beneath, keeping covenant and showing mercy and loving-kindness to Your servants who walk before You with all their heart.
24 You have kept what You promised Your servant David my father. You also spoke with Your mouth and have fulfilled it with Your hand, as it is this day.
25 Therefore now, O Lord, the God of Israel, keep with Your servant David my father what You promised him when You said, There shall not fail you a man before Me to sit on the throne of Israel, if only your children take heed to their way, that they walk before Me as you have done.
26 Now, O God of Israel, let Your word which You spoke to Your servant David my father be confirmed [by experience].q

C- After Solomon had dedicated the temple the Lord appeared to him and confirmed that He will establish the throne of Solomon and his descendants if they are faithful to God and obey His commands and walk in His way but if they don’t follow the Lord but turn away from Him and follow other gods there will be consequences. 1 Kings 9:1-9.
1 Kings 9:1 – 5
1 WHEN SOLOMON finished the building of the Lord's house and the king's house, and all he desired and was pleased to do,
2 The Lord appeared to Solomon the second time, as He had appeared to him at Gibeon.
3 The Lord told him, I have heard your prayer and supplication which you have made before Me; I have hallowed this house which you have built, and I have put My Name [and My Presence] there forever. My eyes and My heart shall be there perpetually.
4 And if you will walk before Me, as David your father walked, in integrity of heart and uprightness, doing according to all that I have commanded you, keeping My statutes and My precepts,
5 Then I will establish your royal throne over Israel forever, as I promised David your father, saying, There shall not fail you [to have] a man upon the throne of Israel.

D-The covenant Yahweh made with David was reaffirmed during Jehoram’s reign, - he was David’s descendant.
2 Kings 8:16-19
16 In the fifth year of Joram son of Ahab king of Israel, Jehoshaphat being then king of Judah, Jehoram son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah began to reign.
17 He was thirty-two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem.
18 He walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, as did the house of Ahab, for [Athaliah] the daughter of Ahab was his wife. He did evil in the sight of the Lord.
19 Yet, for David His servant's sake, the Lord would not destroy Judah, for He promised to give him and his sons a lamp forever.

4-The promises of God giving to Israel a King like David are found in the following scriptures.
As taken from the Old Testament
He will govern Israel, He is the Prince of peace and will bring peace to His people.
 References Isaiah 9:6-7, Ezekiel 37:10-28,
Isaiah 9:6-7
6 For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder, and His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father [of Eternity], Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of His government and of peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from the [latter] time forth, even forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

A- He will bring life to the dead bones of Israel and will restore unity between Israel and Judah and make the two parts of the nation one.
There will be no more division between Israel and Judah.

Ezekiel 37:1-28
1 The hand of the Lord was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the Lord, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones,
And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry.
And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord God, thou knowest.
Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.
Thus saith the Lord God unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live:
And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the Lord.
So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone.
And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them.
Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord God; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.
10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.
11 Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts.
12 Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.
13 And ye shall know that I am the Lord, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves,
14 And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the Lord have spoken it, and performed it, saith the Lord.
15 The word of the Lord came again unto me, saying,
16 Son of man, take a stick and write on it, For Judah and the children of Israel his companions; then take another stick and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and all the house of Israel his companions;
17 And join them together into one stick that they may become one in your hand.
18 And when your people say to you, Will you not show us what you mean by these?
19 Say to them, Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph--which is in the hand of Ephraim--and the tribes of Israel his associates, and will join with it the stick of Judah and make them one stick, and they shall be one in My hand.
20 When the sticks on which you write shall be in your hand before their eyes,
21 Then say to them, Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the nations to which they have gone, and will gather them from every side and bring them into their own land.
22 And I will make them one nation in the land, upon the mountains of Israel, and one King shall be King over them all; and they shall be no longer two nations, neither be divided into two kingdoms any more.
23 Neither shall they defile themselves any more with their idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions: but I will save them out of all their dwellingplaces, wherein they have sinned, and will cleanse them: so shall they be my people, and I will be their God.
24 And David My Servant shall be King over them, and they all shall have one Shepherd. They shall also walk in My ordinances and heed My statutes and do them.
25 They shall dwell in the land in which your fathers dwelt, that I gave to My servant Jacob, and they shall dwell there, they and their children and their children's children, forever; and My Servant David shall be their Prince forever.
26 I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them, and I will give blessings to them and multiply them and will set My sanctuary in the midst of them forevermore.
27 My tabernacle or dwelling place also shall be with them; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.
28 Then the nations shall know, understand, and realize that I the Lord do set apart and consecrate Israel for holy use, when My sanctuary shall be in their midst forevermore.

B-God will have a child from David’s line sit on the throne of David forever
Psalm 132:11-13
11 The Lord swore to David in truth; He will not turn back from it: One of the fruit of your body I will set upon your throne.
12 If your children will keep My covenant and My testimony that I shall teach them, their children also shall sit upon your throne forever.
13 For the Lord has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His habitation:

C - God will never go back on His covenant with David
Yahweh’s covenant will never be broken between day and night, as His covenant will never be broken with day and night neither will His covenant be broken with the house of David so that David will no longer have a man to sit on the throne.
The offspring of David who is to rule on the throne forever is the Messiah Jesus as He is the One that God had planned to rule forever on David’s throne.  It is God Himself through His Son Jesus who will rule on the throne as their King.
Jeremiah 33:19 – 26.
19 And the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying,
20 Thus says the Lord: If you can break My covenant with the day, and My covenant with the night, so that there should not be day and night in their season,
21 Then can also My covenant be broken with David My servant, so that he shall not have a son to reign upon his throne, and [My league be broken also] with the Levitical priests, My ministers.
22 As the host of [the stars of] the heavens cannot be numbered nor the sand of the sea be measured, so will I multiply the offspring of David My servant and the Levites who minister to Me.
23 Moreover, the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying,
24 Have you not noticed that these people [the Jews] are saying, The Lord has cast off the two families [Israel and Judah] which He chose? Thus My people have despised [themselves in relation to God as His covenant people], so that they are no more a nation in their [own] sight.
25 Thus says the Lord: If My covenant with day and night does not stand, and if I have not appointed the ordinances of the heavens and the earth [the whole order of nature],
26 Then will I also cast away the descendants of Jacob and David My servant and will not choose one of his offspring to be ruler over the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. For I will cause their captivity to be reversed, and I will have mercy, kindness, and steadfast love on and for them.
Psalm 89:2-4
2 For I have said, Mercy and loving-kindness shall be built up forever; Your faithfulness will You establish in the very heavens [unchangeable and perpetual].
3 [You have said] I have made a covenant with My chosen one, I have sworn to David My servant,
4 Your Seed I will establish forever, and I will build up your throne for all generations. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!

D-In this psalm the Lord rules in righteousness, He is sitting at the right hand of God to rule, from Zion will be the scepter of His strength, He is a priest forever.
Psalm 110:1-7
1 HE LORD (God) says to my Lord (the Messiah), Sit at My right hand, until I make Your adversaries Your footstool.
2 The Lord will send forth from Zion the scepter of Your strength; rule, then, in the midst of Your foes.
3 Your people will offer themselves willingly in the day of Your power, in the beauty of holiness and in holy array out of the womb of the morning; to You [will spring forth] Your young men, who are as the dew.
4 The Lord has sworn and will not revoke or change it: You are a priest forever, after the manner and order of Melchizedek.
5 The Lord at Your right hand will shatter kings in the day of His indignation.
6 He will execute judgment [in overwhelming punishment] upon the nations; He will fill the valleys with the dead bodies, He will crush the [chief] heads over lands many and far extended.
7 He will drink of the brook by the way; therefore will He lift up His head [triumphantly].

E-This King will rule with righteousness and Justice see also Psalm 45:4-8
Jeremiah 33:14 -17
14 Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will fulfill the good promise I have made to the house of Israel and the house of Judah.
15 In those days and at that time will I cause a righteous Branch [the Messiah] to grow up to David; and He shall execute justice and righteousness in the land.
16 In those days Judah shall be saved and Jerusalem shall dwell safely. And this is the name by which it will be called, The Lord is Our Righteousness (our Rightness, our Justice).
17 For thus says the Lord: David shall never fail [to have] a man [descendant] to sit on the throne of the house of Israel.
Jeremiah 23:5-6
5 Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will raise up to David a righteous Branch (Sprout), and He will reign as King and do wisely and will execute justice and righteousness in the land.
6 In His days Judah shall be saved and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is His name by which He shall be called: The Lord Our Righteousness.

F-This King will be rule like a shepherd, He will be a shepherd over the people of Israel like David was.
Isaiah 40:10-11
10 Behold, the Lord God will come with might, and His arm will rule for Him. Behold, His reward is with Him, and His recompense before Him.
11 He will feed His flock like a shepherd: He will gather the lambs in His arm, He will carry them in His bosom and will gently lead those that have their young.
Ezekiel 34:23-24
23 And I will raise up over them one Shepherd and He shall feed them, even My Servant David; He shall feed them and He shall be their Shepherd.
24 And I the Lord will be their God and My Servant David a Prince among them; I the Lord have spoken it.
25 And I will confirm with them a covenant of peace .
Micah 5:2-4
2 But you, Bethlehem Ephratah, you are little to be among the clans of Judah; [yet] out of you shall One come forth for Me Who is to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth have been from of old, from ancient days (eternity).
3 Therefore shall He give them up until the time that she who travails has brought forth; then what is left of His brethren shall return to the children of Israel.
4 And He shall stand and feed His flock in the strength of the Lord, in the majesty of the name of the Lord His God; and they shall dwell [secure], for then shall He be great [even] to the ends of the earth.
5 And this [One] shall be our peace.

G-This King that Yahweh will raise up like David will have a kingdom that is eternal and have no end and He will rule with authority.
Daniel 2:43-45
43 And as you saw the iron mixed with miry and earthen clay, so they shall mingle themselves in the seed of men [in marriage bonds]; but they will not hold together [for two such elements or ideologies can never harmonize], even as iron does not mingle itself with clay.
44 And in the days of these [final ten] kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed, nor shall its sovereignty be left to another people; but it shall break and crush and consume all these kingdoms and it shall stand forever.
45 Just as you saw that the Stone was cut out of the mountain without hands and that it broke in pieces the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold, the great God has made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter. The dream is certain and the interpretation of it is sure.
Daniel 7:13 – 14
13 I saw in the night visions, and behold, on the clouds of the heavens came One like a Son of man, and He came to the Ancient of Days and was presented before Him.
14 And there was given Him [the Messiah] dominion and glory and kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion which shall not pass away, and His kingdom is one which shall not be destroyed.

H-This King was prophesied to come when Jacob was blessing his sons before his death.  He is known as Shiloh.  He will have a scepter of righteousness

Genesis 49:10
9 Judah, a lion's cub! With the prey, my son, you have gone high up [the mountain]. He stooped down, he crouched like a lion, and like a lioness--who dares provoke and rouse him?
10 The scepter or leadership shall not depart from Judah, nor the ruler's staff from between his feet, until Shiloh [the Messiah, the Peaceful One] comes to Whom it belongs, and to Him shall be the obedience of the people.
Numbers 24:17
17 I see Him, but not now; I behold Him, but He is not near. A star (Star) shall come forth out of Jacob, and a scepter (Scepter) shall rise out of Israel and shall crush all the corners of Moab and break down all the sons of Sheth [Moab's sons of tumult].
Psalm 2:6-9
6 Yet have I anointed (installed and placed) My King [firmly] on My holy hill of Zion.
7 I will declare the decree of the Lord: He said to Me, You are My Son; this day [I declare] I have begotten You.
8 Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations as Your inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth as Your possession.
9 You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them in pieces like potters' ware.
Psalm 45:4-8
4 And in Your majesty ride on triumphantly for the cause of truth, humility, and righteousness (uprightness and right standing with God); and let Your right hand guide You to tremendous things.
5 Your arrows are sharp; the peoples fall under You; Your darts pierce the hearts of the King's enemies.
6 Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; the scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom.
7 You love righteousness, uprightness, and right standing with God and hate wickedness; therefore God, Your God, has anointed You with the oil of gladness above Your fellows.
8 Your garments are all fragrant with myrrh, aloes, and cassia; stringed instruments make You glad.

I-This King to come will bring peace between the offices of priest and king.
Zechariah 6:12-13
11 Yes, take from them silver and gold, and make crowns and set [one] upon the head of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest,
12 And say to him, Thus says the Lord of hosts: [You, Joshua] behold (look at, keep in sight, watch) the Man [the Messiah] whose name is the Branch, for He shall grow up in His place and He shall build the [true] temple of the Lord.
13 Yes, [you are building a temple of the Lord, but] it is He Who shall build the [true] temple of the Lord, and He shall bear the honor and glory [as of the only begotten of the Father] and shall sit and rule upon His throne. And He shall be a Priest upon His throne, and the counsel of peace shall be between the two [offices--Priest and King].

J-This King shall also rule humbly, this was fulfilled at Yeshua’s first coming,
He came on Palm Shabbat (this was four days before Passover) to Jerusalem lowly and mounted on a donkey her servant king.
Zechariah 9:9 – 10.  The rest of the chapter is good to read too.
9 Rejoice greatly, O Daughter of Zion! Shout aloud, O Daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King comes to you; He is [uncompromisingly] just and having salvation [triumphant and victorious], patient, meek, lowly, and riding on a donkey, upon a colt, the foal of a donkey.
10 And I will cut off and exterminate the war chariot from Ephraim and the [war] horse from Jerusalem, and the battle bow shall be cut off; and He shall speak the word and peace shall come to the nations, and His dominion shall be from the [Mediterranean] Sea to [any other] sea, and from the River [Euphrates] to the ends of the earth!

There are many other scriptures that pertain to a King being like David  who will be a  shepherd and king that God will raise up to rule over not only His people Israel but also over the nations of the world.

5- What the Jews believe about the Messiah and why they don’t see Jesus being their Messiah
The Jews think that there are two Messiahs one who suffers and dies, the Messiah of the line of Joseph,
a suffering servant and one who comes in the power of the Lord of the line of David to rule as conquering King.  Because they believe this about their Messiah that there are two Messiahs they cannot believe that there is only one Messiah and that is Jesus and there will be the two comings of the one Messiah.  The first coming for redemption, and the second coming for Him to rule on earth as King and priest and judge.
They still think the Messiah has yet to come and that is why they are looking for the Messiah who is going to come as a mighty king from the line of David. They also don’t believe that this Messiah will be both human and divine; they think the Messiah will be totally human only.
They will think that the Messiah will be a human agent an anointed man from the line of David he may have supernatural powers to prove that he is anointed of God.  He the Messiah they are looking for may even have a prophet to go before him to proclaim that he is the anointed one the Messiah and this prophet will do spectacular works to make people think that he is the one they are waiting for.  He will come from the earth and in his own authority.
They don’t realize that Jesus meets all the requirements of Messiah as a suffering servant from the house of Joseph and as conquering King in His own right from the house of David.

6- Yahweh as King over the earth and Israel through His Son, and His people accepting the false Messiah before they will accept the true Messiah at the end of the age.
God will indeed be King over all the earth and He will in fury make Himself king over His people again Ezekiel 20:33 (best read the whole chapter 20 of Ezekiel) when He brings them back to Israel from where He had scattered them amongst the nations.
He will make Himself known to them and will remove the blindness from their eyes so that they will recognize Him as being their God and King when He comes from heaven to Mt of Olives in response to their cry to rescue them from destruction.
This will be when the nations gather against Jerusalem and both Israel and Jerusalem will be invaded and the women ravished and some of the people taken into exile.
Before they will cry out to the Lord for help they will blindly accept another one who comes in his own name the false Messiah and who will allow the temple to be rebuilt and allow the sacrificial system and priests to be re established.
It is only when this person breaks his covenant with them and invades the city and tries to set up himself in the holy of holies in the newly built temple, to be worshiped as God and when the nations come up against Jerusalem and the temple.
Then they will realize their mistake and will be forced to call upon the Lord by His name Jesus to come and rescue them from destruction.

7- The Christians where do they stand?
Unfortunately a lot of Christians are blindly following the rabbis and their false understanding of who the Messiah is.
They are teaching the church a lot of well known bible teachers are now teaching the church that the Jews believe in a Messiah and a lot of people are being lied to about what kind of Messiah the Jews believe in.  They also teach that the Jews are saved as they have the Old Covenant and they don't need salvation through Jesus who is the New Covenant God made with the House of Israel.
They are also coercing the people in churches around the world to be involved in the building of this temple from which the antichrist will eventually rule.
This is the temple of Solomon that will be rebuilt not the temple in Ezekiel’s vision as it is the Lord Jesus who will build this temple not man.
However a lot of these leaders I believe are in the know that this temple is for the antichrist as a lot of people they are teaching this heresy are part of the apostate church to whom Yahweh will give over to a strong spirit of delusion. This is the Harlot church Mistress Babylon who will ride the beast the dragon /devil. see Revelation 12, 13, 17-18.
They are unreachable and unteachable yet some may hear and heed the warnings to come out and be separate from the idolatrous whore of Babylon and her children whom Yahweh will destroy in the end.
The antichrist will destroy this harlot church system himself and then Yahweh will destroy him and his political/ economic world system.
These people who are teaching these things I believe are involved in the Masonic orders of various persuasions like the Knights of Malta Rick Joyner is one of them as is Peter Wagner who is in charge of the New Apostolic Reformation and there are others.
Others are probably involved in the higher levels of Freemasonry as well known TV evangelist names have been seen in the Washington Masonic temple where they do the service for the 33rd degree.
This was mentioned in an interview with David Icke about two or more years ago on the deliberate collapse of the world economic system to usher in the global economic system which will eventually lead to the mark of the beast.
If we are still here during this time we must be willing to lay down our lives for the Lord rather than taking this mark or He will carry us through this time and then come for us.
Or He may snatch us out of this last great hour of testing upon the earth the last three and half years of the Tribulation aka Jacob’s Troubles by allowing us to be hidden in a safe place.  This may apply to those who will be hiding the Jewish people around the nations and in Israel during this terrible time of the Great Tribulation (Jacob's Troubles).
These men who are involved in these dark things and are key leaders in the church know full well what they are doing and they will bear the full brunt of Jesus’ wrath when He comes back and they will be cast into the outer darkness or lake of fire at the very end forever this is their reward for their wickedness.
Not only are they Masons of the Highest order, they are also Jesuits and of the Illuminati and every foul secret society of the Roman Harlot the Roman Catholic church the Jesuits.
As well as the New Apostolic Reformation those that teach Kingdom Now, Dominion Now futurist theology are really from the church of Rome and dong her dirty work to bring the world under her dominion.

Next session we will look at how Jesus fulfills the Covenant of peace that God made with David.
We will study the scriptures from the New Covenant/ Testament that speak about Him as the One that God will raise up after David.
