Jesus the Passover Lamb who takes away the sins of the world
We
celebrate this time of year as Christians because we remember Jesus who came in
the fulness of time to die on a cross to take away the sins of the world.
God
promised in the beginning when Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden that
He will send a redeemer who will crush the head of the serpent (satan)
Genesis
3:14-15
14
And the Lord God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art
cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly
shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:
15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
God judged the world with the flood but saved 8 people the family of Noah who was righteous. Genesis 6-9.
God
raised up Abraham to be the foundation of the nation of Israel the Patriarch of
the Jews and the Christians.
God raised up a nation through Abraham for Jesus His Son to be born into a people that would know who God is.
God
promised to make a great nation of him and through him all the nations of the
world will be blessed through his seed.
Genesis
12:1-3
1
Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of
thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land
that I will shew thee:
2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee,
and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:

And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
Acts
3:13-26

The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob,
the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and
denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go.
14 But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you;
15
And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath
raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.
16
And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see
and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness
in the presence of you all.

And now, brethren, I wot that through ignorance
ye did it, as did also your rulers.
18 But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of
all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled.
19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be
blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the
Lord.
20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached
unto you:

Whom the heaven must receive until the times of
restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy
prophets since the world began.
22 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the
Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye
hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.
23
And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which
will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.
24 Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow
after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.
25
Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the
covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy
seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.
26 Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him
to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.
Abraham
had the son of promise Isaac who had twin sons Jacob was chosen to be the one
to carry on the line of Abraham.
Jacob
wrestled with the Pre Incarnate Christ who renamed him Israel.
Genesis
32:22-32

And he rose up that night, and took his two wives, and his two womenservants,
and his eleven sons, and passed over the ford Jabbok.
23
And he took them, and sent them over the brook, and sent over that he had.
24
And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man
with him until the breaking of the day.
25 And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched
the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as
he wrestled with him.
26 And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I
will not let thee go, except thou bless me.
27 And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob.
28 And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but
Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast
prevailed.
29 And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy
name. And he said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And he
blessed him there.
30 And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have
seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.
31 And as he passed over Penuel the sun rose upon him, and he
halted upon his thigh.

Therefore the children of Israel eat not of the sinew which shrank, which is
upon the hollow of the thigh, unto this day: because he touched the hollow of
Jacob's thigh in the sinew that shrank.
Genesis
35:9-13

And God appeared unto Jacob again, when he came out of Padanaram, and blessed
him.
10
And God said unto him, Thy name is Jacob: thy
name shall not be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be thy name: and he
called his name Israel.
11
And God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and
kings shall come out of thy loins;
12
And the land which I gave Abraham and Isaac, to
thee I will give it, and to thy seed after thee will I give the land.
13
And God went up from him in the place where he talked with him.
Please
note it was God who gave the name Israel not man.
Then after the children of Israel were in Egypt for 430 years God raided up a deliverer in Moses who was given the first Passover that is the delivery of the children of Israel from the bondage of slavery in Egypt.
Exodus
12:1-41
1
And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt saying,
2
This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first
month of the year to you.
3
Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel,
saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a
lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house:
4
And if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbour next
unto his house take it according to the number of the souls; every man
according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb.
5
Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of
the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:
6
And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day
of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall
kill it in the evening.
7
And they shall take of the blood, and strike it
on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they
shall eat it.
8
And they shall eat the flesh in that night,
roast with fire, and unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it.
9
Eat not of it raw, nor sodden at all with water,
but roast with fire; his head with his legs, and with the purtenance thereof.
10
And ye shall let nothing of it remain until the
morning; and that which remaineth of it until the morning ye shall burn with
fire.
11
And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins
girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat
it in haste: it is the Lord's passover.
12 For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and
will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and
against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the Lord.
13
And the blood shall be to you for a token upon
the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and
the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of
Egypt.
14
And this day shall be unto you for a memorial;
and ye shall keep it a feast to the Lord throughout your generations; ye shall
keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever.
15
Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; even
the first day ye shall put away leaven out of your houses: for whosoever eateth
leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut
off from Israel.
16
And in the first day there shall be an holy
convocation, and in the seventh day there shall be an holy convocation to you;
no manner of work shall be done in them, save that which every man must eat,
that only may be done of you.
17
And ye shall observe the feast of unleavened
bread; for in this selfsame day have I brought your armies out of the land of
Egypt: therefore shall ye observe this day in your generations by an ordinance
for ever.
18
In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the
month at even, ye shall eat unleavened bread, until the one and twentieth day
of the month at even.
19
Seven days shall there be no leaven found in
your houses: for whosoever eateth that which is leavened, even that soul shall
be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he be a stranger, or born
in the land.
20
Ye shall eat nothing leavened; in all your
habitations shall ye eat unleavened bread.
21
Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Draw out
and take you a lamb according to your families,
and kill the passover.
22 And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood
that is in the bason, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the
blood that is in the bason; and none of you shall go out at the door of his
house until the morning.
23
For the Lord will pass through to smite the
Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side
posts, the Lord will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to
come in unto your houses to smite you.
24
And ye shall observe this thing for an ordinance
to thee and to thy sons for ever.
25
And it shall come to pass, when ye be come to
the land which the Lord will give you, according as he hath promised, that ye
shall keep this service.
26
And it shall come to pass, when your children shall
say unto you, What mean ye by this service?
27
That ye shall say, It is the sacrifice of the
Lord's passover, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt,
when he smote the Egyptians, and delivered our houses. And the people bowed the
head and worshipped.
28
And the children of Israel went away, and did as
the Lord had commanded Moses and Aaron, so did they.
29
And it came to pass, that at midnight the Lord
smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh
that sat on his throne unto the firstborn of the captive that was in the
dungeon; and all the firstborn of cattle.
30
And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all
his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt; for
there was not a house where there was not one dead.
31
And he called for Moses and Aaron by night, and
said, Rise up, and get you forth from among my people, both ye and the children
of Israel; and go, serve the Lord, as ye have said.
32
Also take your flocks and your herds, as ye have
said, and be gone; and bless me also.
33
And the Egyptians were urgent upon the people,
that they might send them out of the land in haste; for they said, We be all
dead men.
34
And the people took their dough before it was
leavened, their kneadingtroughs being bound up in their clothes upon their
shoulders.
35 And the children of Israel did according to the word of
Moses; and they borrowed of the Egyptians jewels of silver, and jewels of gold,
and raiment:
36 And the Lord gave the people favour in the sight of the
Egyptians, so that they lent unto them such things as they required. And they
spoiled the Egyptians.
37
And the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses
to Succoth, about six hundred thousand on foot that were men, beside children.
38
And a mixed multitude went up also with them; and flocks, and herds, even very
much cattle.
39
And they baked unleavened cakes of the dough
which they brought forth out of Egypt, for it was not leavened; because they
were thrust out of Egypt, and could not tarry, neither had they prepared for
themselves any victual.
40 Now the sojourning of the children of Israel, who dwelt in
Egypt, was four hundred and thirty years.
41 And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty
years, even the selfsame day it came to pass, that all the hosts of the Lord
went out from the land of Egypt.
42
It is a night to be much observed unto the Lord for bringing them out from the
land of Egypt: this is that night of the Lord to be observed of all the
children of Israel in their generations.
43
And the Lord said unto Moses and Aaron, This is the ordinance of the passover:
There shall no stranger eat thereof:
44
But every man's servant that is bought for money, when thou hast circumcised
him, then shall he eat thereof.
45
A foreigner and an hired servant shall not eat thereof.
46
In one house shall it be eaten; thou shalt not
carry forth ought of the flesh abroad out of the house; neither shall ye break
a bone thereof.
47
All the congregation of Israel shall keep it.
48
And when a stranger shall sojourn with thee, and will keep the passover to the
Lord, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it;
and he shall be as one that is born in the land: for no uncircumcised person
shall eat thereof.
49
One law shall be to him that is homeborn, and unto the stranger that sojourneth
among you.
50
Thus did all the children of Israel; as the Lord commanded Moses and Aaron, so
did they.
51
And it came to pass the selfsame day, that the Lord did bring the children of
Israel out of the land of Egypt by their armies.
Moses
was given the law so that eh people of Israel could live by God’s righteous
laws and he also was given the sacrificial system that were types of shadows of
the cross. For Jesus fulfilled all these
sacrifices through His death.
In
fact, both Moses and Elijah one of the greatest prophets in the Old Testament
after Moses appeared to Jesus on the Mt of Transfiguration when He was
transfigured before the three disciples He took with Him on that mountain.
Luke
9:28-36
28
And it came to pass about an eight days after these
sayings, he took Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray.
29 And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered,
and his raiment was white and glistering.
30
And, behold, there talked with him two men,
which were Moses and Elias:
31 Who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he
should accomplish at Jerusalem.
32
But Peter and they that were with him were heavy with sleep: and when they were
awake, they saw his glory, and the two men that stood with him.
33
And it came to pass, as they departed from him, Peter said unto Jesus, Master,
it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee,
and one for Moses, and one for Elias: not knowing what he said.
34
While he thus spake, there came a cloud, and
overshadowed them: and they feared as they entered into the cloud.
35 And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my
beloved Son: hear him.
36 And when the voice was past, Jesus was found alone. And they
kept it close, and told no man in those days any of those things which they had
seen.
Jesus
spoke of His coming demise in Jerusalem.
Matthew
16:21-23

From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto
his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of
the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again
the third day.

Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee,
Lord: this shall not be unto thee.

But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee
behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the
things that be of God, but those that be of men.

my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of
silver.
13 And the Lord said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly
price that I was prised at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and
cast them to the potter in the house of the Lord.

Then I cut asunder mine other staff, even Bands, that I might break the
brotherhood between Judah and Israel.

And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, he said unto
his disciples,

Ye know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son of man is
betrayed to be crucified.

Then assembled together the chief priests, and
the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high priest,
who was called Caiaphas,
4 And consulted that they might take Jesus by subtilty, and kill
him.
5
But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be
an uproar among the people.
6
Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,
7
There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment,
and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat.
8
But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is
this waste?
9
For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor.
10
When Jesus understood it, he said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for she
hath wrought a good work upon me.
11
For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always.
12
For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial.
13
Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole
world, there shall also this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial
of her.
14
Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot,
went unto the chief priests,
15 And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver
him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.
16 And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.

27:1-10

When the morning was come, all the chief priests
and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death:
2 And when they had bound him, they led him away, and delivered
him to Pontius Pilate the governor.
3 Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was
condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to
the chief priests and elders,
4 Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent
blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that.
5 And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and
departed, and went and hanged himself.
6 And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is
not lawful for to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood.
7 And they took counsel, and bought with them the potter's
field, to bury strangers in.
8 Wherefore that field was called, The field of blood, unto this
day.
9 Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the
prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him
that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value;
10 And gave them for the potter's field, as the Lord appointed
me.
Luke
22:1-6

Now the feast of unleavened bread drew nigh, which
is called the Passover.
2 And the chief priests and scribes sought how they might kill
him; for they feared the people.
3
Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot,
being of the number of the twelve.
4 And he went his way, and communed with the chief priests and
captains, how he might betray him unto them.
5 And they were glad, and covenanted to give him money.
6 And he promised, and sought opportunity to betray him unto
them in the absence of the multitude.
John
13:21-32

When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall
betray me.

Then the disciples looked one on another, doubting of whom he spake.
23
Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved.
24
Simon Peter therefore beckoned to him, that he should ask who it should be of
whom he spake.
25
He then lying on Jesus' breast saith unto him, Lord, who is it?
26
Jesus answered, He it is, to whom I shall give a
sop, when I have dipped it. And when he had dipped the sop, he gave it to Judas
Iscariot, the son of Simon.
27 And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus
unto him, That thou doest, do quickly.
28
Now no man at the table knew for what intent he spake this unto him.
29
For some of them thought, because Judas had the bag, that Jesus had said unto
him, Buy those things that we have need of against the feast; or, that he
should give something to the poor.
30
He then having received the sop went immediately
out: and it was night.
31
Therefore, when he was gone out, Jesus said, Now is the Son of man glorified,
and God is glorified in him.
32
If God be glorified in him, God shall also glorify him in himself, and shall
straightway glorify him.
Jesus
ate the last Passover meal with His disciples.
Luke
22:7-20

Then came the day of unleavened bread, when the
passover must be killed.
8 And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare us the
passover, that we may eat.
9
And they said unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare?
10
And he said unto them, Behold, when ye are entered into the city, there shall a
man meet you, bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he
entereth in.
11
And ye shall say unto the goodman of the house, The
Master saith unto thee, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the
passover with my disciples?
12 And he shall shew you a large upper room furnished: there
make ready.
13
And they went, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the
passover.
14
And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him.
15
And he said unto them, With desire I have
desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer:
16
For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in
the kingdom of God.
17
And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among
yourselves:
18
For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the
kingdom of God shall come.
19
And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake
it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do
in remembrance of me.
20 Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the
new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.
He
suffered greatly in the Garden of Gethsemane by asking His Father to let the
hour of trial pass Him by.

26:36-50

Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called
Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray
yonder.
37 And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and
began to be sorrowful and very heavy.
38 Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even
unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.
39 And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and
prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me:
nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
40
And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto
Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?
41
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is
willing, but the flesh is weak.
42
He went away again the second time, and prayed,
saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it,
thy will be done.
43
And he came and found them asleep again: for their eyes were heavy.
44
And he left them, and went away again, and
prayed the third time, saying the same words.
45
Then cometh he to his disciples, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take
your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the
Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
46 Rise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that doth betray
me.
47 And while he yet spake, lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came,
and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests
and elders of the people.
48 Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever
I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast.
49 And forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, master; and
kissed him.
50 And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus and took him.

cast, and kneeled down, and prayed,
42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me:
nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
43 And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven,
strengthening him.

And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly:
and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

And when he rose up from prayer, and was come to his disciples, he found them
sleeping for sorrow,

And said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.

And while he yet spake, behold a multitude, and
he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them, and drew near
unto Jesus to kiss him.

But Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou
the Son of man with a kiss?

When they which were about him saw what would follow, they said unto him, Lord,
shall we smite with the sword?
50
And one of them smote the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right
ear.
51
And Jesus answered and said, Suffer ye thus far. And he touched his ear, and
healed him.
52
Then Jesus said unto the chief priests, and
captains of the temple, and the elders, which were come to him, Be ye come out,
as against a thief, with swords and staves?
53 When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth
no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.
54
Then took they him, and led him, and brought him
into the high priest's house. And
Peter followed afar off.
55
And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the hall, and were set down
together, Peter sat down among them.
56
But a certain maid beheld him as he sat by the fire, and earnestly looked upon
him, and said, This man was also with him.
57
And he denied him, saying, Woman, I know him not.
58
And after a little while another saw him, and said, Thou art also of them. And
Peter said, Man, I am not.
59
And about the space of one hour after another confidently affirmed, saying, Of
a truth this fellow also was with him: for he is a Galilaean.
60
And Peter said, Man, I know not what thou
sayest. And immediately, while he yet spake, the cock crew.
61 And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter
remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said unto him, Before the cock
crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.
62 And Peter went out, and wept bitterly.

shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul
unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of
many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

Jesus was being crucified, He forgave the people who did this to Him and this forgiveness
also included those who will need His forgiveness in the future. Even when you are at death’s door and you
call out to Jesus to save you and forgive you He will just like He forgave the
thief on the cross.

rose from the dead on the third day to show that He had power over death.

the Baptist rightly called Jesus the Lamb of God who takes away our sins.

So
why do we call this time we celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus
Easter? When it should be called
Passover.
I
wrote the following in an email to a relative today. Hopefully it will get those of you reading
this blog today and over the weekend thinking.
I
will post on the blog some daily readings from the Word for Today re why we
celebrate Easter. Although it still
should be called Passover.
As
Jesus died on the day the Passover lambs were sacrificed and he is the Passover
Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.
As
my father used to say that Easter is a pagan rite to spring named after the
pagan goddess of spring.
I sooner call this time Passover myself as how can it jump from Passover to Easter? It is not biblical and it is adding to the word of God and God instigated the Feasts He gave to the Jewish people because they relate to the two comings of His Son.
By
changing the name from Passover to Easter leads to confusion and the devil is
the author of confusion not God and it is an insult to Him to change the name
of the Feasts that are to do with the sacrifice of His dear son for our sins,
along with His Resurrection which was on the day of First Fruits.
The first lot of Feasts the Spring Feasts of Passover, Unleavened Bread and First Fruits all relate to Jesus His death and resurrection and His being the unleavened bread of life from heaven as the word of God.
Pentecost
or Shavuot is the day God sent His Holy Spirit as promised so that the power of
the gospel can go throughout the world.
The final solemn days of God ie that coincide with the Autumn harvest of grapes the Spring Feast coincided with the Wheat or Barley harvest which also makes bread.
Do
you know that Bethlehem means house of bread as well as house of war?

House of Bread and House of War
Bethlehem's
dual meaning as both the "House of Bread" and the "House of
War" is rooted in its biblical significance. The "House of
Bread" symbolizes the sustenance and nourishment that Jesus provided to
His people, as He is often referred to as the "Bread of Life." This
duality is further emphasized by the prophetic nature of Bethlehem, where the
Messiah's birth is foretold, and where Jesus' teachings and actions are central
to the Christian faith. The "House of War" aspect is less commonly
discussed but can be understood as a metaphorical representation of the
conflict and judgment that Jesus' coming brings to the world.

Anyway,
Jesus is going to come back during the Autumn Feasts / solemn days that are to
do with self-examination the Feasts of Trumpets that announce the coming of the
king which include coming judgments.
The
Day of Atonement and judgement and the Feast of Tabernacles.
Jesus will come one day during these solemn days and will celebrate His marriage to His believing people which will be both his believing Jewish brethren and believing Gentile brethren on Mt Zion at His return.
I
had changed the word in one of the daily readings from Easter to Passover for
the reasons given above.
I
hope that one day you who are reading
this blog will rejoice like myself in the work that our Lord has done for us by
dying on the cross so that we can have forgiveness from sins and be made
righteous and rejoice in the knowing that because He lives we can live also and
face the troubles and trials of this world in confidence that He is risen and
is coming again.

33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
As we are now living in the times that I call birth pangs of the coming Kingdom of Christ ie His second coming.
Please
remember that Jesus is the whole reason why we celebrate this time as
