Part Two The beginning of Birth Pangs
- I will be continuing on in this blog post with talking about the signs of the times leading to the return of Christ.
- We looked at the significance of the Temple in my last post so I won't go over this again in this post.
- I will start with the disciples question to Jesus about what are the signs leading up to His coming and His response to their question.
- I will break it down into different sections looking at what is happening in the world today to show that we are indeed living in the last of the last days.
Matthew 24:3-8
And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
- Please note the first thing Jesus said was to take heed that no one will deceive you.
- This is very important as many people will try and deceive those who are His followers.
- In fact this seems to be the predominant theme through His discourse about the sign of His coming and the end of the world.
- As this theme on not to let anyone deceive you, goes throughout the Lord's discourse. I will only touch on it briefly in this part.
- I will develop it further in the next part. Which will be Part 3 The birth pangs increase in strength.
I will put these signs under the following headings, with the scriptures that relate to each heading.
The Beginning of Sorrows. (birth pangs of His coming)

- Famines and Pestilence
- Earthquakes in diverse places.

1 Be not deceived
Matthew 24:4
And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you
The end of days and a key sign that the return of Jesus is very near is the rise of deception not just in the secular world but in the church overall.
Deception will lead to lukewarmness and apostasy, people will become indifferent to God and His word. They will look to man rather than to God and will end up believing the lie that is as old as the beginning of time that ye are gods.
Deception will be rampant on the earth and Jesus is telling both His disciples with Him and those who will be alive on the earth just before His coming, not to let any man deceive you.
Human beings under the influence of satan will be working overtime to deceive many and take the souls of men captive through their deceptions.
It will be like in the days of Nimrod the mighty hunter he was a hunter of men's souls he took them captive and it was he along with his wife who started the mystery religion of Babylon which has plagued the earth ever since the tower of Babel.

This book gives a rundown of the religion of Babylon how it was started by Nimrod and how the Roman Catholic System is very similar and many people have been deceived by both.
The ancient nation of Israel was plagued by the false religions of the Canaanites and later by the religion of Babylon.

In other words we are not to let our souls be taken captive by them for if we do so, we could run the very real risk of worshiping one who is not Christ but the antichrist. Satan will possess this man to rule the world through him like he did through Nimrod and his wife and later on solely through this woman. Remember satan is a roaring lion seeking to devour the weak.
1 Peter 5:8
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
That is why we must test all things, prove all things and try the spirits behind all things.

Which leads me to my next point.
2 Beware of people coming in His name saying they are Christ.
Matthew 24:5
For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
Throughout this discourse Jesus repeatedly warns about many people coming in His name saying that they are Christ or many will come as false prophets to deceive many.
It seems that false christs and false prophets go hand in hand. In fact the Anti Christ will have a false prophet to be his spokesman sort of like Moses had Aaron to be his spokesperson for Moses was as God to Aaron and Aaron spoke on his behalf.
Exodus 4:10-17
Revelation 13:1-18
There is now technology that can put words into someone else's mouth that they didn't say. So the false prophet of the Antichrist can make the statue of the beast come alive and speak false lying words making out that this statue is speaking on behalf of God but the words it speaks will be words that God didn't say.

That is why Jesus keeps saying don't be deceived by these people they are not speaking for Him or His Father. With this strong warning of Jesus ringing in our ears not to be deceived. We must be on the alert against such people not to be taken in by them. We must know the scriptures and in WHOM we believe. So that we won't be taken in by these people who are pretending to be christ or a prophet speaking falsely in His name.
Yes the devil who is behind these false christs and prophets will try and deceive as many as he can to get people worshiping him instead of the true Christ. Or he will get people to fall away from following the true Jesus and not believe in anything at all.
Satan has always wanted the chief place in God's kingdom beginning with heaven and ending with the earth, in particular the rebuilt third temple in Jerusalem at the end of this current age.
Isaiah 14:4-20
Even the Jewish tribal leaders, elders and the religious leaders of Jesus's day refused to believe in Jesus or acknowledge that He came in the name and authority of His Father. Jesus rebuked them for being willing to follow one who will come in his own name. This is how it will be at the end of the age that one will come in his own name and will pretend to be Jesus.
John 5:41-47
This topic is a huge one and I am not going to write about it in too much detail in this part.
Jesus warms about false christs and false prophets throughout the whole discourse. Culminating in the invasion of Jerusalem by the armies of the world and the abomination of desolation being set up in the Holy place the courtyard where the sacrifices took place in the temple, as spoken of by Daniel and He warns not to go into the desert place or secret room to see the final false christ.
In the next part I will focus a bit more on the false christs and false prophets and how they will affect the true believers in the the Lord Jesus Christ and the world at large.
I will go into more detail about how they will affect the church of God. How these false christs and prophets will be used by satan to be forerunners of the final false christ and prophet and we are seeing evidence of this in the apostate church today.
This is all I will say on this subject for now until Part Three. In the section on the Great Tribulation and Jerusalem I will write more about the ultimate false christ who will be the antichrist and the false prophet who will be causing people to worship him.

There is now technology that can put words into someone else's mouth that they didn't say. So the false prophet of the Antichrist can make the statue of the beast come alive and speak false lying words making out that this statue is speaking on behalf of God but the words it speaks will be words that God didn't say.

That is why Jesus keeps saying don't be deceived by these people they are not speaking for Him or His Father. With this strong warning of Jesus ringing in our ears not to be deceived. We must be on the alert against such people not to be taken in by them. We must know the scriptures and in WHOM we believe. So that we won't be taken in by these people who are pretending to be christ or a prophet speaking falsely in His name.
Yes the devil who is behind these false christs and prophets will try and deceive as many as he can to get people worshiping him instead of the true Christ. Or he will get people to fall away from following the true Jesus and not believe in anything at all.
Satan has always wanted the chief place in God's kingdom beginning with heaven and ending with the earth, in particular the rebuilt third temple in Jerusalem at the end of this current age.
Isaiah 14:4-20
That thou shalt take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say, How hath the oppressor ceased! the golden city ceased!
5 The Lord hath broken the staff of the wicked, and the sceptre of the rulers.
6 He who smote the people in wrath with a continual stroke, he that ruled the nations in anger, is persecuted, and none hindereth.

Satan's ultimate end will be the Lake of Fire but first he will be cast into the bottomless pit during the reign of Christ.
Revelation 20:1-10.
And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.
4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
Even the Jewish tribal leaders, elders and the religious leaders of Jesus's day refused to believe in Jesus or acknowledge that He came in the name and authority of His Father. Jesus rebuked them for being willing to follow one who will come in his own name. This is how it will be at the end of the age that one will come in his own name and will pretend to be Jesus.
John 5:41-47
I receive not honour from men.
42 But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you.
43 I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.
44 How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?
45 Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust.
46 For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me; for he wrote of me.
47 But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?
This topic is a huge one and I am not going to write about it in too much detail in this part.
Jesus warms about false christs and false prophets throughout the whole discourse. Culminating in the invasion of Jerusalem by the armies of the world and the abomination of desolation being set up in the Holy place the courtyard where the sacrifices took place in the temple, as spoken of by Daniel and He warns not to go into the desert place or secret room to see the final false christ.
In the next part I will focus a bit more on the false christs and false prophets and how they will affect the true believers in the the Lord Jesus Christ and the world at large.
I will go into more detail about how they will affect the church of God. How these false christs and prophets will be used by satan to be forerunners of the final false christ and prophet and we are seeing evidence of this in the apostate church today.
This is all I will say on this subject for now until Part Three. In the section on the Great Tribulation and Jerusalem I will write more about the ultimate false christ who will be the antichrist and the false prophet who will be causing people to worship him.
3 Wars and rumours of wars
Matthew 24:6-7a
And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom
Since the beginning of time there has always been warfare, of kingdoms and nations rising up against each other and fighting for supremacy. There is always a man who wants to rule the world as the supreme ruler. To take the place of God as the One who should have supremacy as ruler of heaven and earth and over the nations.
Man is just a created being and is limited but the wicked like to think that they are invincible and will live forever. Yet God in His word says the wicked are just like grass a vapor on the face of the earth and they will be plucked up and their place will not be found. The Psalms and various prophets speak of the Lord's dealings with the wicked that they will not remain but will go to their place.
Here are just a few examples of what the Lord will do to the wicked.
Psalm 1:1-6
Jesus says we are not to be concerned about the constant warfare that will take place on the earth for it must be so. It is not yet the end of the age.
There is only One who can bring in lasting peace and until He comes there will be no true peace on the earth until Shiloh comes who is Jesus Himself.
Genesis 49:10
The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.
Yet like birth pangs that come closer and closer together the natural aspects of the earth will be affected and wars will increase until Jesus comes as the conquering King to vanquish His foes. He will come in warfare to do this but more on this later.
Wars must continue to be in fact sometimes God causes warfare on the earth. For He is not pleased to see nations at peace and at ease especially when they have done things against Israel so He stirs the pot so to speak by causing wars in these nations that are at ease.
Zechariah 1:7-21
We are seeing more and more wars on the earth last century saw two great world wars and numerous other skirmishes and yes even in this century we are on the cusp of another war. A third world war that will bring about Daniel's 70th week.
This war will have two fronts one in the Middle East and one in the Asia Pacific front. The one on the Asia Pacific front will be started by North Korea who is threatening world peace right now and any day now war will be declared on this rogue state that has sent a missile over the North of Japan.
While this is happening a war will break out against Israel in the Middle East on several fronts possibly through some conflict on the Temple Mount or planes or missiles being sent over the Golan Heights on the Israeli / Syrian border against Israel from the rebels fighting Syria and those who are supporting Assad. Who will turn into a united front to attack Israel under the control of Iran / Turkey/ Russia and their allies. Or an attack from the Gaza Strip, Lebanon, or from Egypt or several of these fronts at once.
North Korea is an ally of both Syria and Iran and has the backing of Russia. Lebanon is becoming a munitions factory with the wicked attempt to destroy the Jewish State.
Of course this will not succeed for as you can see from the scriptures I gave above concerning the wicked what will happen to them especially those who hate Israel/ Zion. Those who hate Zion will be turned backward and God Himself will fight against them.
While the world is looking at what is happening with North Korea and being taken up with the war there the one in the Middle East will take place. They the enemies of Israel will be hoping that the US will be too stretched through the war in the Asia Pacific to be of any help to Israel to protect her from attack by the Arab nations.
However they are not counting on the God of Israel who will be fighting for her. The enemies of Israel will be so soundly routed that they will be suing for peace through a false messiah like figure.
This false messiah will be so convincing that the world will think it is Jesus come back or a Messiah that will appeal to all the nations of the world and accepted by the Jews to make a covenant of peace with them that will allow them to rebuild the Third Temple with sacrifices and a priestly service like in the previous two temple eras. There may be some sort of trade off with this person concerning Jerusalem for it to be trampled under foot by the Gentiles for another three and half years.
Before I will put in the web links about these things I will put in some words the Lord gave me a few years ago concerning the wars that will be taking place on the earth and who they will be affecting.
I will also put in Psalm 83 for I believe that this war in the Middle East will have to do with these particular enemies of Israel.
One thing more before I add these things, Jesus said we are not to be troubled but we are to have peace in all of these things and to stand firm in Him.

America will be destroyed as a great power by nuclear weapons from without and by civil unrest from within as well as natural disasters, earthquakes which will split the land in half and volcanic eruptions, famine and drought, disease will take its toll in the land and many will fall away and will deny Me and will hand others who stand for Me over to be killed.
The love of many will grow cold, Obama will take over the running of the country but before it goes completely under he will escape to the nations that he has made friends with to hide and bide his time to come forth as a key player in the final years on the earth. No he is not the antichrist that man is on the earth but will come forth when the time is appointed for him to appear at the signing of the treaty with Israel will he be made known. Obama will be a key man in this man’s government to plan evil against My people.

Yes there will be a nuclear war very shortly, North Korea will declare war upon both South Korea and America and they will even fire nuclear weapons upon both. America will be attacked very soon by North Korea, China, Russia, Mexico and Venezuela Cuba and other nations from South America as well as being attacked by terrorist organizations from within her from the Arabic people.
Also Israel will be attacked very soon by planes flying over the Golan Heights by the rebels who are fighting Assad they will soon attack Israel, as well as more missiles being fired on her from Gaza and even Egypt. Iran will also enter this fray through Lebanon and Russia will come into this war as well. Though her enemies be many and she may look as though things may go against her and her enemies will appear to have the upper hand and lives will be lost in Israel and both Tel Aviv and Jerusalem being attacked this is only the war that will lead into the time of Tribulation. Though they may come at her like a flood her enemies I will raise up a standard against them and will destroy and break their power. So much so the nations around her will realize there is a Holy God in Israel who does the fighting for her.
Her enemies will be defeated and she will expand into and take over their territory, the wealth of these nations will become her wealth and she will become a powerful nation this is in the lead up to My return. Her temple will be rebuilt and sacrifices will begin again in my temple but for a season this temple will be given over to the enemy when he sets up his brief kingdom for a brief hour of darkness upon the earth when the whole world will be taken captive by him and his evil prophet the last pope that will soon be elected. My people who stand for me will shine like stars of righteousness.
This last week of years Daniel’s 70th week will soon come upon the earth which will lead into the birth of My kingdom where Israel will be restored as a kingdom under Me and Jerusalem will once more be the centre of My rule and power and all nations will come once more up to Jerusalem to worship Me on My holy Hill Mt Zion and in My holy temple. Only those who are of My household and family and are holy will be able to draw close to Me on My holy Mountain, no unholy or unclean thing or person will come near me in my temple or on my mountain.

This is getting serious the White House and the State Dept being at odds with each other mainly over Israel and Iran.
A house divided against itself cannot stand a chap called Tillerman seems to want to hang onto Obama's policies concerning the Middle East and he is undermining Trump's policies concerning the Middle East at every turn. Possibly Obama is not finished yet and is he stirring the pot controlling things through this man in the State Dept behind the scenes? Something to think about and chew upon.
It seems to me that he could be the Devil's Advocate and wanting to bring about World War III that is the religious war between the Jews and the Arabs and a land / temple mount war which is religious anyway as to who owns the land and the rights to the Temple Mount.
Truly satan's forces are gathering in the Middle East around Israel and Jerusalem. They may have the upper hand briefly but they won't win in the long run Jesus will and He will soundly defeat them at His return after the period on the earth of the Great Tribulation.
I know I have put a lot of information about this upcoming war that will happen on two fronts but it is important for those reading this blog to get a handle on what is happening in both the Middle East concerning Israel and what is happening with North Korea and how they are linked.

Wars must continue to be in fact sometimes God causes warfare on the earth. For He is not pleased to see nations at peace and at ease especially when they have done things against Israel so He stirs the pot so to speak by causing wars in these nations that are at ease.
Zechariah 1:7-21
Upon the four and twentieth day of the eleventh month, which is the month Sebat, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the Lord unto Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying,
8 I saw by night, and behold a man riding upon a red horse, and he stood among the myrtle trees that were in the bottom; and behind him were there red horses, speckled, and white.
9 Then said I, O my lord, what are these? And the angel that talked with me said unto me, I will shew thee what these be.
10 And the man that stood among the myrtle trees answered and said, These are they whom the Lord hath sent to walk to and fro through the earth.
11 And they answered the angel of the Lord that stood among the myrtle trees, and said, We have walked to and fro through the earth, and, behold, all the earth sitteth still, and is at rest.
12 Then the angel of the Lord answered and said, O Lord of hosts, how long wilt thou not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which thou hast had indignation these threescore and ten years?
13 And the Lord answered the angel that talked with me with good words and comfortable words.
14 So the angel that communed with me said unto me, Cry thou, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great jealousy.
15 And I am very sore displeased with the heathen that are at ease: for I was but a little displeased, and they helped forward the affliction.
16 Therefore thus saith the Lord; I am returned to Jerusalem with mercies: my house shall be built in it, saith the Lord of hosts, and a line shall be stretched forth upon Jerusalem.
17 Cry yet, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; My cities through prosperity shall yet be spread abroad; and the Lord shall yet comfort Zion, and shall yet choose Jerusalem.
18 Then lifted I up mine eyes, and saw, and behold four horns.
19 And I said unto the angel that talked with me, What be these? And he answered me, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.
20 And the Lord shewed me four carpenters.
21 Then said I, What come these to do? And he spake, saying, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, so that no man did lift up his head: but these are come to fray them, to cast out the horns of the Gentiles, which lifted up their horn over the land of Judah to scatter it.
We are seeing more and more wars on the earth last century saw two great world wars and numerous other skirmishes and yes even in this century we are on the cusp of another war. A third world war that will bring about Daniel's 70th week.
This war will have two fronts one in the Middle East and one in the Asia Pacific front. The one on the Asia Pacific front will be started by North Korea who is threatening world peace right now and any day now war will be declared on this rogue state that has sent a missile over the North of Japan.
While this is happening a war will break out against Israel in the Middle East on several fronts possibly through some conflict on the Temple Mount or planes or missiles being sent over the Golan Heights on the Israeli / Syrian border against Israel from the rebels fighting Syria and those who are supporting Assad. Who will turn into a united front to attack Israel under the control of Iran / Turkey/ Russia and their allies. Or an attack from the Gaza Strip, Lebanon, or from Egypt or several of these fronts at once.
North Korea is an ally of both Syria and Iran and has the backing of Russia. Lebanon is becoming a munitions factory with the wicked attempt to destroy the Jewish State.
Of course this will not succeed for as you can see from the scriptures I gave above concerning the wicked what will happen to them especially those who hate Israel/ Zion. Those who hate Zion will be turned backward and God Himself will fight against them.
While the world is looking at what is happening with North Korea and being taken up with the war there the one in the Middle East will take place. They the enemies of Israel will be hoping that the US will be too stretched through the war in the Asia Pacific to be of any help to Israel to protect her from attack by the Arab nations.
However they are not counting on the God of Israel who will be fighting for her. The enemies of Israel will be so soundly routed that they will be suing for peace through a false messiah like figure.
This false messiah will be so convincing that the world will think it is Jesus come back or a Messiah that will appeal to all the nations of the world and accepted by the Jews to make a covenant of peace with them that will allow them to rebuild the Third Temple with sacrifices and a priestly service like in the previous two temple eras. There may be some sort of trade off with this person concerning Jerusalem for it to be trampled under foot by the Gentiles for another three and half years.
Before I will put in the web links about these things I will put in some words the Lord gave me a few years ago concerning the wars that will be taking place on the earth and who they will be affecting.
I will also put in Psalm 83 for I believe that this war in the Middle East will have to do with these particular enemies of Israel.
One thing more before I add these things, Jesus said we are not to be troubled but we are to have peace in all of these things and to stand firm in Him.

These nations who support the corruption of the Marriage laws to favor same sex marriage will soon experience My righteous indignation in the form of judgments of fire, earthquakes, heat waves, drought famines, floods, snow and ice, volcanic upheaval and economic collapse along with the war that will break out shortly in the Middle East a war of horrific proportions the likes of which has not been experienced since the dropping of the Atom Bomb on Japan, it will be war that will involve chemical, biological and nuclear weapons that will impact upon all of the earth.

America will be destroyed as a great power by nuclear weapons from without and by civil unrest from within as well as natural disasters, earthquakes which will split the land in half and volcanic eruptions, famine and drought, disease will take its toll in the land and many will fall away and will deny Me and will hand others who stand for Me over to be killed.
The love of many will grow cold, Obama will take over the running of the country but before it goes completely under he will escape to the nations that he has made friends with to hide and bide his time to come forth as a key player in the final years on the earth. No he is not the antichrist that man is on the earth but will come forth when the time is appointed for him to appear at the signing of the treaty with Israel will he be made known. Obama will be a key man in this man’s government to plan evil against My people.
Yes there will be a nuclear war very shortly, North Korea will declare war upon both South Korea and America and they will even fire nuclear weapons upon both. America will be attacked very soon by North Korea, China, Russia, Mexico and Venezuela Cuba and other nations from South America as well as being attacked by terrorist organizations from within her from the Arabic people.
Also Israel will be attacked very soon by planes flying over the Golan Heights by the rebels who are fighting Assad they will soon attack Israel, as well as more missiles being fired on her from Gaza and even Egypt. Iran will also enter this fray through Lebanon and Russia will come into this war as well. Though her enemies be many and she may look as though things may go against her and her enemies will appear to have the upper hand and lives will be lost in Israel and both Tel Aviv and Jerusalem being attacked this is only the war that will lead into the time of Tribulation. Though they may come at her like a flood her enemies I will raise up a standard against them and will destroy and break their power. So much so the nations around her will realize there is a Holy God in Israel who does the fighting for her.
Her enemies will be defeated and she will expand into and take over their territory, the wealth of these nations will become her wealth and she will become a powerful nation this is in the lead up to My return. Her temple will be rebuilt and sacrifices will begin again in my temple but for a season this temple will be given over to the enemy when he sets up his brief kingdom for a brief hour of darkness upon the earth when the whole world will be taken captive by him and his evil prophet the last pope that will soon be elected. My people who stand for me will shine like stars of righteousness.
This last week of years Daniel’s 70th week will soon come upon the earth which will lead into the birth of My kingdom where Israel will be restored as a kingdom under Me and Jerusalem will once more be the centre of My rule and power and all nations will come once more up to Jerusalem to worship Me on My holy Hill Mt Zion and in My holy temple. Only those who are of My household and family and are holy will be able to draw close to Me on My holy Mountain, no unholy or unclean thing or person will come near me in my temple or on my mountain.

This is getting serious the White House and the State Dept being at odds with each other mainly over Israel and Iran.
A house divided against itself cannot stand a chap called Tillerman seems to want to hang onto Obama's policies concerning the Middle East and he is undermining Trump's policies concerning the Middle East at every turn. Possibly Obama is not finished yet and is he stirring the pot controlling things through this man in the State Dept behind the scenes? Something to think about and chew upon.
It seems to me that he could be the Devil's Advocate and wanting to bring about World War III that is the religious war between the Jews and the Arabs and a land / temple mount war which is religious anyway as to who owns the land and the rights to the Temple Mount.
Truly satan's forces are gathering in the Middle East around Israel and Jerusalem. They may have the upper hand briefly but they won't win in the long run Jesus will and He will soundly defeat them at His return after the period on the earth of the Great Tribulation.

4 Famines and pestilence
Matthew 24:7b
and there shall be famines, and pestilences
I could have treated the disasters in this verse as one but I have decided to break it down into two headings due to the nature of these disasters.
Famines are most often regarded as being the result of drought no rain. However famines can be the result of many things,that can cause a shortage of food, clean drinking water and even spiritual famines due to lack of the word of God. Though in this verse Jesus is speaking of natural famine.
Famines can be caused by severe flooding that can make the ground too soggy to plant crops for a long period of time or the ground could be contaminated by things that could make people sick if they eat the food planted in the soil. Or the crops that would be ready to be harvested will be destroyed by floods.
Wars could cause famines as well as people would be leaving their homes to flee for their lives to another region. Thereby making the region they have left unprofitable and thereby causing famine due to no one tending the crops or growing crops. This is the case with the severe famine in Sudan this is caused by war where people had to flee their homes to escape being caught by soldiers who are hostile to them. People are starving and living off roots to survive on islands in swamps.
Or in Yemen people can no longer live normally and grow crops because of factional fighting within that nation the same goes for Syria so wars can displace people and cause famines.
Other natural disasters can cause famines these being earthquakes and volcanic eruptions I will deal with earthquakes in my next point. The land being destroyed by these earthquakes and the infrastructures of towns and cities can affect the normal way of life so that it could take a while for roads and other infrastructures to be rebuilt.
Or the earthquake could affect the land that was once usable to be no longer usable for crop growing. Due to it being under the sea or filled with rocks from landslides or being uplifted and hard to sow crops on it.
Volcanoes can cover the terraine in ash and lava thereby causing people to flee for their lives and they may not return to rebuild or plant crops on the land until years later or maybe never.
Pestilence goes hand in hand with famine for without proper food people get weak and sick. If soil is contaiminated with chemicals in the case of modern man due to chemical war fare or spillage due to fires or floods or earthquakes they can leak into the water table and poison the soil.
Or due to sewage pipes or pumping stations being damaged or flooded then raw sewage will be everywhere and thereby cause serious diseases such as typhoid or cholera which can become a pandemic or some other serious sickness could arise as a result of famine.
People due to starvation will become too weak and malnourished to take care of themselves and their children and they will just die.
Pestilence can be caused due to dead bodies being left where they are in most countries with no one to bury them. This will cause another lot of issues and pestilences due to flies, rats and other things that feed off the dead bodies of people and cattle these things will spread disease as well.
Not a pretty picture of what the world will be like at the beginning of the signs of the Lord's coming but this is how it will be and Jesus Himself was saying this to His disciples and this applies to those who will be alive and reading these scriptures at this time. He is warning us these things will take place and to be prepared for them when they do start to happen. To prepare as much as we can and to put our trust in God to show us what to do and for His provision.

These things disasters and diseases are a form of God's righteous judgment upon the earth. I will deal with this more in the final section in this part that being the Beginning of Sorrows.
Update currently there are two serious disease outbreaks one in Uganda and one on the island of Madagascar off the coast of Africa.
Both of these diseases can easily spread around the globe and become a pandemic within 72 hours if not contained in the areas they are currently in.

The above items are just some examples of what is happening in the world today in the form of disasters and diseases how they have affected nations or one nation in particular. These things disasters and diseases are a form of God's righteous judgment upon the earth. I will deal with this more in the final section in this part that being the Beginning of Sorrows.
Update currently there are two serious disease outbreaks one in Uganda and one on the island of Madagascar off the coast of Africa.
Both of these diseases can easily spread around the globe and become a pandemic within 72 hours if not contained in the areas they are currently in.

Now I will write about earthquakes, there has always been earthquakes upon the earth since the dawn of time.
Where ever God goes there are earthquakes, for the Lord causes the earth to quake.

To say that God does not cause earthquakes is foolish. As earthquakes are another way God uses to get man's attention and to bring about His righteous judgments upon the earth.
Isaiah 29:6From the LORD of hosts you will be punished with thunder and earthquake and loud noise, With whirlwind and tempest and the flame of a consuming fire.
In fact before we had the first big earthquake in Christchurch seven years ago today. The Lord spoke to me that week when I was praying saying that there will be an earthquake in the natural and in the spiritual then we had the 7.1 earthquake that struck Christchurch on the 4 September 2010.
Since we have had that first big earthquake things have not been the same in not only this city of Christchurch but also around the world. Things have sped up in way of more earthquakes, fires, floods, volcanic eruptions since 2010 it is like God sped up time beginning with that particular earthquake.
When I was up praying on that morning I could not enter into prayer but I could feel God's anger and I asked Him was He angry with me and He said no. What He did tell me was that His eyes were blazing with anger at what sinful man had done on the earth. As I was debating about whether or not to go back to bed the earth then literally heaved up under my knees as I was kneeling by my prayer chair near a big window in our lounge room in Ilam Christchurch.
All I could do was to shout out praises to our Great God and yell out to my family we are having an earthquake for the earth was indeed shaking violently but it was not as bad as the one that would come nearly six months later in Feb 2011 which did kill people in this city of Christchurch. That was a very violent quake. God protected myself and my family and our pets through both of these strong earthquakes.
Also in 2011 Japan in March had the killer quake and tsunami and Japan the land itself was pushed out of place by so many feet.
We have experienced many earth tremors and quakes since moving to New Zealand from Australia in 2009 and this includes the Kiakoura quake in 2016 we were not badly affected by that quake as we live a distance from Kaikoura.
This quake affected not only people's houses but the main road and rail line that goes north that moves food and other goods around the South Island. People had to travel from Christchurch to Picton or from Picton to Christchurch by the road in the middle of the South Island which takes longer to get to Picton and it is not a road that is built for such a huge volume of traffic.
People can fly by plane to the North Island of New Zealand, hwoever if they want to go by ferry to Wellington across the Cook Strait between the two islands they need to travel to Picton to get the ferry across the Cook Strait. Hence my writing about driving from Christchurch to Picton and how the quake affect the transport system of road and rail between these two centres.

This quake just showed how fragile our road and rail system is and how earthquakes can affect countries and can cause problems to get food, water and other items of need to those who have been affected by the earthquake. In fact the Navy was called in the get those stranded in Kaikoura to Christchurch.
This is just from my perspective as one who is living in a land that is affected by earthquakes as our land is called the Shaky Isles due to the large amount of earthquakes we do have in this land.
Not only this we do have volcanoes as well and only God knows when they will wake up and cause problems of a more serious kind. Auckland alone has many volcanoes around the city itself so imagine what may happen when any or a number of them should wake up and erupt.
Auckland is a nightmare to get around at the best of times due to heavy traffic congestion on its motor ways imagine what it will be like should they be in the throes of a volcanic eruption. It can be devastating to say the least should they don't get ample warning or if people ignore the warnings to get out.
Or when they do heed the warning and try to leave at the last minute. They will find that a lot of other people will be trying to leave at the same time and the motor ways could get clogged up and people may not be able to run from the ash cloud or lava or other threats a volcanic eruption can cause. They will be stranded on the motor ways as the traffic will be either crawling or at a stand still in a grid lock situation and should there be an ash cloud from the eruption visibility will be very poor and the air hard to breathe. Also as the ash builds up no one will be able to drive their vehicles easily and many will have to abandon them.
So people may try to make a run for it leaving their cars but again they may not get far, so you can see it will be hard to evacuate a city like Auckland if the warning of such an eruption does not come with enough time for people to leave safely. Such an eruption could happen suddenly and with very little warning. This is a worse case scenario and it may not happen at all for Auckland in this manner for some time yet.
Before I finish with Auckland we have had just this week had a serious issue of the fuel pipeline that supplies the commercial planes that fly in and out of Auckland airport one of the major air gateways into New Zealand. This fuel pipe line was ruptured causing flights to be cancelled, tourism was affected and planes having to fly to Christchurch to get fueled up or try and get fueled up in Brisbane or other airports in Australia if flying from Asia or Europe or tankers being diverted to Fiji to bring fuel there to be on forwarded to Auckland.
At first petrol supplies were not affected to motorists in Auckland but now it seems that they too will be affected. So can you imagine if there is issues with fuel in Auckland for whatever reason this could be another problem people may have to face to get away from danger. People will be panicking and possibly be harming one another in their fear and anxiety to get away from the volcano.

Italy is another land that is prone to earthquakes and they have had a few this year and a deadly one last year.
Turkey, Greece, China and even Australia has had earthquakes.
As to Australia having earthquakes, when I was 14 and a half when we had the Picton fault line quake in 1973 this is a fault line in the Southern Highlands to the back of the Illawarra region where I grew up. That quake was 5.6 it didn't kill anyone but it did do some damage around the region.
Other parts of Australia have had earthquakes some large some small. The larger ones often just have affected areas so remote in the outback that they didn't cause any damage.

6 Beginnings of Sorrows.
Matthew 24:8
All these are the beginning of sorrows.
Often in the Bible God's judgments / and or the Day of the Lord is likened to a woman going suddenly into labor.
In the Old Testament the Day of God's judgment which will occur on the Day of Atonement is often referred to the Day of the Lord a Day of gloom and darkness.
In the New Testament this Day is now referred to the Day of Christ it is one and the same day. For the second coming of Christ to the earth to judge and to begin His earthly reign is indeed the Day of the Lord and it will be a day of gloom and darkness.
In a sense when Jesus died on the cross there was a small taste of this gloom and darkness when the sun turned dark.

However when Jesus does come again in the clouds in His glory the world will be in darkness and everyone will see Him. More on this in greater detail on the section on the return of the Lord Jesus.
I will give a few scriptures from both the Old and New Testaments to show that the Day of the Lord will be like a woman going suddenly into labor.
Indeed the things listed above are like labor pains the world is going into labor to birth the kingdom of God. The end result will be the return of Jesus as the man child from heaven.
Revelation 12:1-5
Like a woman having labor pains that increase in strength so too the labor pains of the earth will increase in intensity and strength until the bringing forth of the Son of Man.
These labor pains will be God's righteous judgments upon the earth to deal with the nations including the nation of Israel represented by Jerusalem. God will be dealing with sinful mankind including those who have rejected the gospel will be dealt with.

2 Thessalonians 1;5-10
These verses are taken from Revelation to do with the seals being broken in heaven and God bringing His judgment upon the earth. In the next lot of verses from Revelation 16 it is to do with God pouring out His final vial judgments before Jesus comes forth from heaven.
Revelation 16 also speaks about God bringing all nations to Jerusalem to enter into judgment with them. In Isaiah, Ezekiel and Jeremiah God does speak about His dealing with the nations in judgment.
So the Old Testament does correlate with the New Testament in God's dealing with mankind through judgments. There are many more scriptures than this but I will leave it here with these few scripture references.

In Part Three of this series on the signs of the Lord's coming I will write about how the birth pangs increase in strength.
Often in the Bible God's judgments / and or the Day of the Lord is likened to a woman going suddenly into labor.
In the Old Testament the Day of God's judgment which will occur on the Day of Atonement is often referred to the Day of the Lord a Day of gloom and darkness.
In the New Testament this Day is now referred to the Day of Christ it is one and the same day. For the second coming of Christ to the earth to judge and to begin His earthly reign is indeed the Day of the Lord and it will be a day of gloom and darkness.
In a sense when Jesus died on the cross there was a small taste of this gloom and darkness when the sun turned dark.

Even God Himself goes into travail and labor.
