Part 5 Section A Part One scriptures relating to the second coming of Jesus. The Coming of the Son of Man after the Great Tribulation.

Matthew 24:29-36

Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:

33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

Introduction

As can be noted from the verses above that Jesus appears after the period of the Great Tribulation.
That He appears in such a way that all of those on the earth will be able to see Him and recognize who He is. There is no mistaking His identity.
I will write about what He will look like under the section on the sign of the Son of man below.
He will send His angels out to collect those who are His and this will include those who are alive and who are asleep in Him.
In other words when Jesus appears we who belong to Him will be caught up to be with Him. He does not come for those who are His before the Great Tribulation but after it and this includes the raising of the righteous dead. We who are alive at this time cannot precede those who are asleep in Christ. There are no two resurrection of the righteous dead as is taught falsely in some circles.
Also the sun turning dark and the moon turning red and the shaking of the heavens do not occur until Jesus comes back to the earth.
People have tried to read certain things in eclipses and red moons that have happened over the last few years. These are indeed signs of things that are happening in God's time frame but they are not the signs that Jesus speaks of that will take place only at His appearing after the time of the Great Tribulation.
Just like God judged the Egyptian gods to show the Egyptians that He is God even causing the sun not to shine as the Egyptians worshiped the sun.
So too at His appearing Jesus will judge the sun, the moon, the stars the very things that people are worshiping today to show that He is God and His glory will outshine even these things.
The earth will be dark too by the time of His appearing because He will be judging the enemy's kingdom and so that His glory will be shining so brightly all will see His coming.
Just like how Jesus told the Pharisees that they will see Him coming in HIs glory and His Father's glory in the clouds.
Israel is the fig tree that has put out its leaves to show that summer is near. As I have already written about this in Part 4 I will not write more on this other than to say here, that the state of Israel is a sign of the coming of the Son of man that He is at the door.
That our generation or our children may be the last one before Jesus comes back.
Those who are His will be going through the Great Tribulation, our blessed hope is the actual physical coming of the Lord. We will not be caught up before He returns physically to catch us to Himself.
The words that Jesus speaks will not pass away before they do heaven and earth will pass away.
Just because we may not know the exact hour of His coming it does not mean we should not know the season of His coming. Or to be awake and alert watching for His coming.
I will deal with being awake and alert watching for the Lord's coming in Part 7 and Part 6 will deal with how the days we are now living in are like the days of Noah and Lot.
Section A will be broken into two parts. Part One will have scriptures that relate to the second coming of the Lord under different headings.
Section A Part Two will be an article I wrote about the Feasts of the Lord how they relate to the two comings of Jesus as a refresher of what I have been writing about in this series on the signs of the coming of the Lord.
There may be some overlap of the same scriptures in the other three sections. These other sections will be taken from articles I have written over time hence the repetition of the same scriptures. No harm in having the scriptures repeated as they will become familiar to those reading this blog and will stand them in good stead in the near future as a reference point to go back to. Especially when the scriptures are being attacked by those who don't believe in God nor take His word seriously about His judgments coming upon the earth and the physical return of Jesus.
We must not let people fool us or lull us into false security or sleep through their fancy words in downplaying the importance of prophecy or that Jesus is not God or that we are little gods doing what we will.
Nor should you allow them to tell you that the Great Tribulation and physical coming of Jesus is just picture language and we can pray or decree away the Great Tribulation / judgments of God upon the earth at this time. All of these ideas are lies from the pit of hell.

Jesus Appears after the time of the Great Tribulation and gathers His saints.

Old Testament
Joel 3:10-12

Proclaim ye this among the Gentiles; Prepare war, wake up the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near; let them come up:

10 Beat your plowshares into swords and your pruninghooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong.

11 Assemble yourselves, and come, all ye heathen, and gather yourselves together round about: thither cause thy mighty ones to come down, O Lord.

Zechariah 14:1-5

Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee.

2 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.

3 Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.

1 Thessalonians 4:11-17

Jesus coming in His Glory
Daniel 7:8-14

I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.

9 I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.

10 A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.

11 I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame.

12 As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time.

13 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.

Matthew 24:30
And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
Matthew 26:63-64

But Jesus held his peace, And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.

64 Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

Mark 13:26
And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.

62 And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

Luke 22:66-69

And as soon as it was day, the elders of the people and the chief priests and the scribes came together, and led him into their council, saying,

67 Art thou the Christ? tell us. And he said unto them, If I tell you, ye will not believe:

68 And if I also ask you, ye will not answer me, nor let me go.

69 Hereafter shall the Son of man sit on the right hand of the power of God.

Sign of the Son of man shall appear and all nations shall see Him and mourn.

Revelation 6:12-17

And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;

13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.

14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;

16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:

17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

Zechariah 12:9-12

And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.

10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.

11 In that day shall there be a great mourning in Jerusalem, as the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the valley of Megiddon.

12 And the land shall mourn, every family apart; the family of the house of David apart, and their wives apart; the family of the house of Nathan apart, and their wives apart;

What is the sign of the Son of Man?
This is a small section taken out of the article on Jesus coming back as a judge. Section D will have the full article.

I just wanted to put down here the section relevant to what the sign of the Son of man will be like at His second coming.

Have a look at the following comparison of when Jesus stood trial at His first coming on His way to Golgotha and look at how He appears as the Almighty God and King of kings at His second coming.

The sign of Jesus in His second coming will be a glorified version of how He looked when He stood before Pontius Pilate and the Jewish people on the Day of Passover. His crucifixion day please remember how He looked beaten, bloodied with a bloodied robe on Him, a crown of thorns cruelly forced down on His head. The soldiers not long before He stood before Pilate had mocked him and spat upon him and beat him over the head with a reed.
Then the final indignity to stand before Pilate and have the people being stirred up to cry for the release of a notorious prisoner a murder and rabble rouser to be released in His stead.
To hear the people that He had taught in the temple or synagogues whom He had fed and healed of their diseases to call for His death by crucifixion. That must have torn sorely at His heart.
Here is how He looked when standing at the judgment seat of Pilate before the mob.

Matthew 27:11-31

And Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And Jesus said unto him, Thou sayest.

12 And when he was accused of the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing.

13 Then said Pilate unto him, Hearest thou not how many things they witness against thee?

14 And he answered him to never a word; insomuch that the governor marvelled greatly.

15 Now at that feast the governor was wont to release unto the people a prisoner, whom they would.

16 And they had then a notable prisoner, called Barabbas.

17 Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said unto them, Whom will ye that I release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus which is called Christ?

18 For he knew that for envy they had delivered him.

19 When he was set down on the judgment seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, Have thou nothing to do with that just man: for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him.

20 But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitude that they should ask Barabbas, and destroy Jesus.

21 The governor answered and said unto them, Whether of the twain will ye that I release unto you? They said, Barabbas.

22 Pilate saith unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ? They all say unto him, Let him be crucified.

23 And the governor said, Why, what evil hath he done? But they cried out the more, saying, Let him be crucified.

24 When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye to it.

25 Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children.

26 Then released he Barabbas unto them: and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified.

27 Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered unto him the whole band of soldiers.

28 And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe.

29 And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!

30 And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head.

31 And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him.

John 19:1-20

Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him.

2 And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple robe,

3 And said, Hail, King of the Jews! and they smote him with their hands.

4 Pilate therefore went forth again, and saith unto them, Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may know that I find no fault in him.

5 Then came Jesus forth, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe. And Pilate saith unto them, Behold the man!

6 When the chief priests therefore and officers saw him, they cried out, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Take ye him, and crucify him: for I find no fault in him.

7 The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.

8 When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he was the more afraid;

9 And went again into the judgment hall, and saith unto Jesus, Whence art thou? But Jesus gave him no answer.

10 Then saith Pilate unto him, Speakest thou not unto me? knowest thou not that I have power to crucify thee, and have power to release thee?

11 Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above: therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin.

12 And from thenceforth Pilate sought to release him: but the Jews cried out, saying, If thou let this man go, thou art not Caesar's friend: whosoever maketh himself a king speaketh against Caesar.

13 When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he brought Jesus forth, and sat down in the judgment seat in a place that is called the Pavement, but in the Hebrew, Gabbatha.

14 And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King!

15 But they cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Caesar.

16 Then delivered he him therefore unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and led him away.

17 And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha:

18 Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst.

19 And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And the writing was Jesus Of Nazareth The King Of The Jews.

20 This title then read many of the Jews: for the place where Jesus was crucified was nigh to the city: and it was written in Hebrew, and Greek, and Latin.

Well this is the same sign of how He will return but not as a torn mess nearly passing out through loss of His own blood.
He will be coming back in triumph, victorious, glorious as a King of all Glory but coming in the way that people will know Him as before He died on the cross.
He will be dressed in a bloodied robe, wearing many crowns on His head so that from a distance they may look like a crown of thorns and instead of a reed for a sceptre He will have a sword coming from His mouth for judgment and He will be riding a huge white war horse not a humble donkey coming in peace.
He will come back in this way to judge mankind for what they did to Him if they didn't receive the gospel message of salvation through His death and resurrection and this applies to all people be they Jews or from the nations.

⦁They mocked Him and made little of Him the first time but they won’t be doing this at His second coming.
⦁For they will be crying out for the rocks to hide them from the wrath of the Lamb of God when they see Him coming in deep anger and wrath against them to wage righteous war against them.
⦁He won’t be coming humble and lowly mounted on a donkey no He will be coming as a conquering king mounted on a white war horse.

17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

Revelation 16:10-11, 17-21

Isaiah 24:18-23

And it shall come to pass, that he who fleeth from the noise of the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that cometh up out of the midst of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for the windows from on high are open, and the foundations of the earth do shake.

19 The earth is utterly broken down, the earth is clean dissolved, the earth is moved exceedingly.

20 The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again.

21 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall punish the host of the high ones that are on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth.

22 And they shall be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison, and after many days shall they be visited.

23 Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, when the Lord of hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before his ancients gloriously.

Zechariah 14:6-7

And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark:

7 But it shall be one day which shall be known to the Lord, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light.

Ezekiel 38:14-23

Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say unto Gog, Thus saith the Lord God; In that day when my people of Israel dwelleth safely, shalt thou not know it?

15 And thou shalt come from thy place out of the north parts, thou, and many people with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty army:

16 And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes.

17 Thus saith the Lord God; Art thou he of whom I have spoken in old time by my servants the prophets of Israel, which prophesied in those days many years that I would bring thee against them?

18 And it shall come to pass at the same time when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord God, that my fury shall come up in my face.

19 For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel;

20 So that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.

21 And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, saith the Lord God: every man's sword shall be against his brother.

22 And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone.

23 Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the Lord.

Hebrews 12:25-29

See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven:

26 Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.

27 And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.

28 Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:

29 For our God is a consuming fire.
