Part 5 Section A Part Two The Feasts of the Lord in connection to the two comings of Christ.- the coming of the Son of Man after the Great Tribulation

Part 5 Section A Part Two The Feasts of the Lord in connection to the two comings of Christ - the coming of the Son of man after the Great Tribulation

Matthew 24:29-36
29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:
33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.
34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.
35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

1-Introduction
  • Feasts of the Lord connected with the two comings of Christ
    • This section is about the Feasts of the Lord and how they are connected to the two comings of Christ.  To know more about the Feasts of the Lord please look up Leviticus 23.
They are the Lord's Feasts that He gave to Israel to celebrate Him by.

    Leviticus 23:1-2.
1 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the Lord, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts.
    • As I mentioned in Section A Part One's introduction to Part Five that Jesus did not say we are not to be awake, alert and watching for His coming even if we do not know the hour of His coming.  That we should know the season of His coming.
    • The Feasts the Lord tells the Israelites to observe in Leviticus 23 are to do with the former and latter rain harvests and these feasts tie in with the two comings of Jesus.
    • I hope this blog post about the Feasts and the two comings of Jesus will be of help to you.
    • I have included the Spring Feasts as well as the Autumn Feasts to refresh people's minds how these Spring Feasts in connection to the Passover were fulfilled by Jesus that they were fulfilled in their entirety by Him.
    • So too the Autumn Feasts will be fulfilled in their entirety by His second coming.  In other words the second coming will come about in the season of the Autumn Feasts.
The Seven Feasts are as follows:
    • Passover
    • Unleavened Bread
    • First Fruits
    • Pentecost
    • Trumpets
    • Day of Atonement
    • Tabernacles or Sukkoth
2- First Coming – Spring Feasts, these Feasts represent redemption
The Spring Feasts are as follows:
    Passover
    Unleavened Bread
    First Fruits
    Pentecost

3 How do these Feasts relate to Christ at His first coming?
The Spring Feasts relate to the first coming of Christ in the following ways.
    • Jesus is our Passover as the sacrificial lamb for sin; Exodus 12, John 1:29, 36.
    • He is our unleavened bread as He is the bread from heaven which is unleavened as He is sinless and His body was broken for us as bread for us to feed off Him, John 6. (Leaven represents sin.)
    • He is the first fruits of many brethren after His resurrection.1 Corinthians 15:20-23.
    • He is the One who Baptizes in the Holy Spirit (the promise of the Father) He sent the Holy Spirit as seal of the promise of His return that He will come again for us and to give us the power to live a sanctified life as well as being witnesses for Him.
    • References: Matthew 3:11, Luke 11:13, Luke 24:49, Acts 1:4-5, 8, Ephesians 1:13-14
    • Jesus is also the great High Priest over the house of Heavenly Israel which is made up of believers from the nations and Israel that make up His body on earth which is aka the church (temple that He is building).  Further information on His role as High Priest is found in the teaching series on Jesus as prophet, High priest and King.
    • He offered Himself as a sacrifice a Lamb / peace offering between man and God and God and man.
    • He also officiated as High Priest praying a High priestly prayer in John 17 and at the cross in Luke 23: 34 when He prayed for Father to forgive their sin of putting Him on the cross both Jew and Gentile because they did not know what they were doing.
    • He also bore our sins on the cross and paid for them in full.  Before He died He said it is finished, He accomplished the task of redemption as our atoning sacrifice on the tree Psalm 22:31, John 19:28-30.
    • He is now our High Priest in heaven praying in intercession before the throne or at Father’s right hand on our behalf that is what a High Priest does He intercedes and stands in the gap for those of His nation, household, family.  Romans 8:34, Hebrews 7:25.
    • He dealt with the enemies by this sacrifice the enemies of sin and death brought about by sin.  He has the keys of death and Hades.  Revelation 1:18.
    • At His second coming both enemies will finally be made a foot stool for His feet at the end of His millennial reign that is 1 Corinthians 15:24-28,  Revelation chapters 20-22.

4- First coming sealed in the Holy Spirit former rain, (Wheat/ Barley Harvest)
This harvest of weeks is the only harvest where leaven can be offered to the Lord in an offering the Israelites were to present two loaves of leavened bread represents both the House of Israel and the Nations coming together to be offered before the Lord.  Leviticus 23:16-17.

This is the Feast of Pentecost for Pente means fifty in Greek.  In Hebrew it is Shavuot the Feast of weeks.
    Leviticus 23:16-17
16 Count fifty days to the day after the seventh Sabbath; then you shall present a cereal offering of new grain to the Lord.
17 You shall bring from your dwellings two loaves of bread to be waved, made from two-tenths of an ephah of fine flour; they shall be baked with leaven, for firstfruits to the Lord.
    • Though we come initially as sinful people before the Lord we can be made righteous by His Son’s life and we can offer ourselves as a daily sacrifice our bodies to Him and offer up the fruit of our lips in praise to Him Romans 12:1-2, Hebrews 13:15.
    • Leaven can also represent the growth of God’s kingdom of people coming to salvation through believing in Jesus and what He did on the cross for our sins
      Matthew 13:33.
    • Spring rain the beginning of the church era the period of Grace Israel wounded with an incurable wound for two thousand years or two days.
    • She will be raised up and healed revived on the third day, Ezekiel’s vision of the valley of dry bones coming to life again by the Spirit of God.
    • References Jeremiah 30:14-15, Ezekiel 37:1-14, Hosea 6:1-3.
    • The fig tree now is bearing fruit the Lord’s return is at the door
    • Matthew 24:32-33
    • Jesus is referring to the previous 31 verses in seeing the signs and knowing that He is near the signs that He had given in the previous verses to watch out for and when you see the Fig tree putting out its leaves you know summer is near and He is near.
    • His second coming is near, the Fig Tree represents Israel so if Israel as a nation state exists today after nearly two thousand years of nonexistence then you can be sure His coming is nigh.
    • We still have to wait for the other signs to come about they are happening the wars, rumours of wars, famines, earthquakes in unusual places, false Christs, false prophets and lawlessness, the love of many growing cold.
    • This is within the church and now the Jews are being surrounded by their enemies more and more on a daily basis, the third temple is just about to be rebuilt, they have all the things ready to go into the temple plus they are training up the priesthood.
    • Yes a lot of things have happened and there are still yet more things to take place but they can and will happen just as Jesus said they would for He is God and He knows what will take place in the end.
    • He told the truth in what will take place to Jerusalem after He ascended to Father on high it did happen and if Jerusalem fell the way it did into Roman hands with the temple being destroyed then the things He said will happen at His second coming will take place.
    • We are now in a period of transition leading up to His second coming and things are starting to change as the world heads into the time of Tribulation and the takeover of the evil one to bring about his false kingdom on this earth.
    • This is before the Great and terrible day of God’s wrath and vengeance comes upon this earth upon the devil and his kingdom.  Which will be like when God delivered the Israelites from Egypt, He too will deliver His people from this dying world system under satan’s power and He God will judge it with great and terrible plagues like He did judge the Egyptians.
5 - Second Coming the latter rain autumn rain
Grape harvest the culmination of the harvest the physical return of the Lord to take up His kingdom.

Two Grape Harvests at the end of the age.
Harvest of the grapes of wrath
There are two grape harvests one is grapes of wrath where God tramples on the nations to pour out His vengeance, punishment and wrath against satan’s kingdom and those who follow him.
To wreak vengeance upon Babylon the harlot church / world system under satan.1 Thessalonians 5:2-4, 9-10, 2 Thessalonians 1:5-10, Revelation 14:17-20, Isaiah 63:1-6.

Harvest of the righteous the good grapes
There is the grape harvest of those who are righteous to be saved from God’s wrath to be snatched away at Christ’s second coming before He stands on the Mt of Olives at His return.  Matthew 24:29-31, 1 Corinthians 15:50-54, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17, Revelation 14:14-16.

Daniel's 70th week the time of the Autumn Feasts
    • Some Jewish people coming to faith in the Lord now fruit on the fig tree coming into the church of Israel grafted back into the Olive Tree of Israel the native tree.
    • When the seven years of Daniel’s 70th week begins this will be broken up into the three and half year of false peace with the Jews doing sacrifices in the Third Temple.
    • This period will be interrupted with the Antichrist breaking the false peace treaty by invading Jerusalem, killing the two witnesses and setting himself up to be worshiped as God in the temple.
    • This will begin the three and half years of the Great Tribulation and Israel and Jerusalem will be at the place she was at before Jesus left the earth under pagan rule but this time it will be both Rome and Babylon combined under satan.
    • Jerusalem under a strong political and religious power, sign a treaty with this power the Antichrist and His false prophet who will allow the temple to be rebuilt
    • Jesus will bring a remnant of people to faith in Him during this time by refinement through fire Zechariah 13:8-9.
    • Isolation of Israel even though they might be strong and in control of things to a point Jerusalem will have a temple and sacrifices again, priests and orthodox, ultra-orthodox and Sanhedrin the religious class ruling Jerusalem.  Though nations will turn against them and they will go into the wilderness of the peoples Ezekiel 20:33-38.
    • Religious Jews get strong but their power will be shattered at the end when they will be forced at the invasion of Jerusalem and Israel to call upon the name of Jesus to Yeshua them to humble themselves to do this to call upon His name to come save them from total destruction.  Daniel 12:7, Zechariah 12:10 -14.
    • Temple will be desecrated by the offerings being stopped to Yahweh but perhaps offerings being done to the Antichrist the devil himself and the throne of the Antichrist put into the temple and he is worshipped as a god. Abomination of desolation Daniel 9:27, and Matthew 24:15, 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4.
    • No wonder Jesus when He comes back will go into this temple and recompense those within the temple they will experience His wrath as He clears the temple of this filth and He will be venting big time and causing uproar in Jerusalem Isaiah 66:6, 2 Thessalonians 2:8, Revelation 19:11-20:3.
    6 - The Third Temple
    • I honestly don’t know which temple design they will used for this third temple a lot of Christians are supporting the building of this temple and giving funds to its building not knowing they are really supporting the building of the temple that will be desecrated by the Antichrist.
    • I believe Ezekiel’s vision of the Temple in Ezekiel chapters 40-48 could be the Third temple.  We won't know for sure what style it will be until it is built.
    • We know there will be a third temple from which the antichrist will rule the earth and in the holy place the abomination of desolation will stand one day as Daniel and Jesus said it will.  It will be in existence when the two witnesses stand in Jerusalem speaking forth God's righteous judgments upon the earth.  2 Thessalonians 2:1-12, Daniel 9:27, Daniel 11:31, Daniel 12:11, Matthew 24:15-16,  Revelation 11:1-4.
    7 - Second Coming – Autumn Feasts
These last three Feasts will be totally fulfilled at His second coming
    Feast of Trumpets
    Day of Atonement
    Feast of Tabernacles.

    (a) - Feast of Trumpets
    • Primarily the Feast of Trumpets is to announce the coming of the King of all Kings, that He is on His way to take up His inheritance upon the earth.  That being the city of Jerusalem, the land of Israel and her people are His inheritance.
    • The Feast of Trumpets is a summons of the believers of Christ who make up His true body aka the temple/ church  to the marriage of the Lamb as guests of the Lamb when He marries Jerusalem to Himself again.
    • The trumpet blast will summon His people to come to Him whether they are dead or alive. This will occur when Jesus is coming in the clouds and everyone will see Him but before His feet actually touch down on the Mt of Olives to the east of Jerusalem.
    •  References: 1 Thessalonians 4:16, Revelation 19:7-9, 11-15.
    • Jesus tells His disciples that His coming will occur after the time of the Great Tribulation and the sun, moon will be darkened and the stars will not give their light the world will be darkness physically and spiritually.
    • This darkness is part of God’s wrath being poured out on the earth.
    • When Jesus finally appears because it is so dark everyone will see His brightness shining, His Glory will be brighter than the sun and the moon and by His coming the heavens will be shaken and cause the stars or meteorites to fall upon the earth.
    • References: Isaiah 24:19-23. Isaiah 34:4, Matthew 24:29-30, Luke 21:25-26, Hebrews 12:23-29, Haggai 2:6-7, 21-22, Acts 2:19-20, Joel 2:30-31, Joel 3:15, Malachi 4: 1-6, Revelation 16:10.
    • Jesus tells his disciples that when they see Jerusalem surrounded by invading armies and all these other signs to look up for their redemption draws near and they will be summoned to the Lord by the Shofar blast and the sound of the Shout of the Lord to command the dead to rise in Him and the living to come to Him and they will be caught up to Him and changed in a twinkling of an eye.
    • References: Matthew 24:30-31, Luke 21:17-28, 1 Corinthians 15:52 already given above.
    (b) - Day of Atonement
    • His Day of Atonement in Leviticus 16 is a solemn day of fasting and penitence so therefore it will be for His people to forgive them of their sins and to bring judgment upon His enemies.
    • I believe the whole of the book of Revelation is about the coming Day of Atonement as Jesus is the Atonement for Israel as well.  It is possible that John was fasting on this Day being also known as the Lord's Day and he was in the spirit on that day possibly due to fasting as well.
    • The Feast of Yom Kippur aka Day of Atonement, this will be the Day of the Lord the Day of Judgment upon the enemies of God of the nations and Israel. Where God will make a complete end of Israel’s enemies the Gentile nations who hate her.
    • God will also cleanse Israel by fire and blast of Judgment Jerusalem but forgiveness for His people and redemption for Israel as a nation after they have repented of their sin of rejecting their God.
    • References: Isaiah 4:4, Jeremiah 30: 7-24, Joel 2:11-3:21, Zechariah 14:1-21, Malachi 4:1-6.
    • Jesus will come back to deal with the nations as a judge for He is the judge of the living and the dead and at His Second coming He will judge the living.
    • References: Matthew 25:31-46.
    • He will bring His rewards and compensation with Him Isaiah 62:11, Revelation 22:12.
    (c) - Feast of Tabernacles
    • The feats of Tabernacles are to be the celebration of joy for the return of the Lord to dwell forever more with His people in Jerusalem.
    • The Feast of Tabernacles Booths Lord living amongst His people forever never more to be separated from them.  He will be remarried to them and His face and favour will be towards them once more.
    • When Jesus comes back it will be Jubilee year for His people and the city of Jerusalem and the land of Israel
    • References Isaiah 4:5-6, Joel 3:16-21, Zechariah 14:10-21, Ezekiel 37:26-28, Ezekiel 39:21-29.
