Christmas Greetings

 CHRISTMAS GREETINGS

For unto us a child is born,

Unto us a son is given:

And the government shall be upon his shoulder:

And his name shall be called

Wonderful, Counsellor,

 The mighty God,

The everlasting Father,

The Prince of Peace.

Of the increase of his government

And peace there shall be no end,

Upon the throne of David,

And upon his kingdom, to order it,

And to establish it with judgment

And with justice from henceforth even for ever.

The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

Isaiah 9:6-7

To all those who have been reading these blogs posts I have written throughout the year, May the Lord be with you and your family at this special time as we celebrate the birth of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus the Passover Lamb of God and soon coming King of Glory the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, may God bless you and your families.

I have included a Bible League daily reading to remind all who receive this Christmas greetings blog from me of the real reason for Christmas, the reason why Jesus was born.

He was born to die on the cross for the salvation of mankind from their sins, so that they can live forever with Him and His Father in their eternal kingdom of heaven on earth.

The devotion had another scripture but I changed the scripture to put in verses that are more fitting to this time of year that being the birth of Christ and how this came about.

Luke 1:26-38

26 And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,

27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.

28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.

29 And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.

30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.

31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus.

32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:

33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

34 Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?

35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

36 And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.

37 For with God nothing shall be impossible.

38 And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

Devotion

Such is the greatest gift ever! For unto us the Child was born, the Son was given to save the human race.

The Bible tells us Jesus Christ is the son of David. He is God’s sovereign King. Appointed, rejected, but a King who will return. Jesus is also the son of Mary—God’s supernatural child from a virgin, a divine birth of divine truth.

The Bible tells us Jesus is the Son of Man. The servant Child who suffered physically, submitting to the Father’s will and establishing the blueprint for love and obedience to God. Jesus is also described as the Son of God.

He is the only acceptable sacrifice that took the wages of sin away forever, the only Saviour who can lead us to eternity in heaven; and this child, this Son, will return to rule the world in His righteousness and justice to bring real peace on earth.

“For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet. The last enemy that will be destroyed is death” (1 Corinthians 15:25-26).

To the woman at the well, Jesus (speaking of Himself) said, “If you know the gift of God and who it is that speaks to you, ‘Give me a drink,’ you would have asked of Him, and He would have given you living water” (John 4:10).

The Apostle Paul proclaims; “Thanks be to God for His unspeakable gift” (2 Corinthians 9:15). Jesus Christ, born of a peasant virgin in a tiny obscure village, lived in humility suffering rejection, was handed over to His enemies, mocked and tried, beaten beyond recognition, and nailed to a cross between two thieves, laid to rest in a borrowed tomb, yet rose again.

He was loved and hated; but there has never been One who impacted the world so greatly.

It has been said that of all the military forces that ever marched or sailed, rolled across land or powered across seas, and all the Kings that ever reigned, and all the governments that ever existed – put together – have not impacted life on earth so overwhelmingly and powerfully as has the one single life of the humble carpenter, Jesus Christ.

Jesus is the greatest gift to this world. The gift of God for eternal life. Not only as the Child who came to show us the way of life and life everlasting, but also as the Man who died to complete the way, so He can return as King to reign in the way.

Please consider the words of the scriptures and devotion in this blog, think about where you stand personally with the Lord God and His Son, do you receive Him or reject Him.  This will be what counts on the day of the return of Christ to this world very soon.

The truth being at His return will your name be in the Lamb's book of life because you received the gospel of salvation through the only Son of God or will your name be absent from the Lamb's book of life because you have rejected the gospel.

If you believed upon the name of Jesus you will enter into His Kingdom and will live with Him for eternity, if you have rejected His salvation message and His gift of eternal life then you will end up in the Lake of fire for eternity.  Think on this and I pray that you who have yet to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ to be saved that you will call upon His name for there is salvation under Heaven only in His name.

I will leave some more scriptures for you to think upon and make a life saving decision over this Christmas period.

John 3:3-7, 13-21

3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?

5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.

14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

John 12:44-50

44 Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me.

45 And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me.

46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.

47 And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.

48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.

50 And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.

Hebrews 10:26-31

26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:

29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.

31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Acts 4: 10-12

10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.

11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.

12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

For those who love the Lord Jesus and do know Him please feel free to send this message onto your friends and family. If you have strayed away from the Lord do use this time to get your hearts right with Him.

May you and your families have a wonderful Christmas and a blessed New Year.

Yours in Christ Jesus

Jenny
